Happy Thursday! Summer is winding down (less than two weeks!), and we haven’t had too much on the calendar lately, which has been nice. Here’s a peek at what we’ve been up to.
We took care of this little guy for eight days, and the girls were paid handsomely for it.
And they chose to spend their guinea pig money on these Squishmallow activity sets at Costco! They were so proud to go up to the register and use their own money!
It’s the perfect choice for them!
I had the cutest little waitress the other day!
Marie and I took the girls to the park and toward the end they decided to practice jumping off the swings . . . which was not our favorite part of the trip.
Luckily, we didn’t leave with any broken arms.
Matty was gone for three nights on his annual golf trip weekend.
I let each girl take a turn sleeping in bed with me while the other girl slept on the floor in her sleeping bag. Penelope got to sleep with me every night, obviously.
Lucy had an eye appointment last Friday, and the girls had fun trying on all the glasses.
I had an appointment on Saturday morning, so Marie watched all four little ladies.
Saturday afternoon we had a little quiet time . . .
. . .before heading to the mall. I stood here for a few minutes while the girls road up and down the escalator several times. Between the escalator time and a trip to Claire’s, their day was made!
We ended with dinner at Panera . . .
. . .and movie before bed. We watched one of the Ice Age movies, and Lucy was rapt with attention the entire time!
On Sunday morning I did some cleaning while the girls worked on signs to welcome Matty home.
There was a nail painting party on our deck Monday afternoon . . .
. . . and we also made a back to school craft.
Do NOT let this picture fool you . . . the girls have been bickering/fighting/crying like crazy the past two weeks. These sweet sister moments are few and far between lately. I think they need a little time apart from each other, which is why I’m definitely looking forward to school starting up soon.
I’ve been having a run of sleepless nights lately. At first I chalked it up to Matty being away, but it’s continued since he got home. When I don’t sleep, Penelope doesn’t sleep as well because I’m her pillow and I wake her up every time I toss or turn. We’ve noticed that since my insomnia started she’s been taking some hardcore morning naps! Lucky lady . . . I don’t have that same luxury! haha
Emmy Roses goes to Kindergarten Round Up this morning, and she is SO excited!
Have a great weekend!
