Happy Thursday! We’re back from a great getaway with friends at the cottage and have re-entered normal life.
We left last Thursday afternoon. Before we left, these four cuties had their last morning of Encanto Dance Camp, and they were so excited!

We showed up for their performance, and they were all wearing glasses like Mirabel’s in the movie. It was precious!

After the performance and lunch out with the grandparents, my mom and dad took the girls back to their house and Matty, Penelope, and I hit the road!

You guys, I hardly took any pictures. I can’t tell if I’m disappointed or proud. It was SO nice not to have my phone with me all the time. I just sat back, relaxed, and enjoyed my friends.
This group took at least a two mile walk every morning while some of the other guys watched golf.

It was so fun having Penelope with us; she truly is the greatest dog. She’s happy to let our friends cuddle her, and every morning (when I eventually got out of bed), she ran around to each person to give them licks and say hello. Marie (and Josh!) are her biggest fans!

It was a great four days away, and I loved every minute of it. We left mid morning on Monday, and Penelope and I were tired!

While we were away, the girls were being spoiled by my parents. There was lots of swimming, crafting, bracelet making, and mini golfing!

Re-entry day is the worst! Matty dropped me off at home so I could unpack, start the laundry, and go to the grocery while he picked up the girls. They got home mid afternoon. We had a great reunion, unpacked, heard all about their adventures . . . and then we all crashed. Apparently, though, I crashed the hardest because I’m the only one who fell asleep. A 60 pound weighted blanket is just what I needed!

You may notice from the very first picture in this post that I did Lucy’s hair in a bunch of fancy braids for her last day of dance camp . . . and she left her hair that way until we got home on Monday! haha Here’s her hair on Monday evening, then when I took out all the braids, and then when we brushed it! She thought it was hilarious . . . and then it got a good washing!

And now it’s back to business as usual, and I’m already looking forward to Friend’s Weekend 2023!
XOXO
