Fourth of July . . .

July 11, 2022 by Molly Leave a Comment

. . . the non stop celebration!

Happy Monday! It feels good to be back to blogging. I took such a long break that I had to go back and see what I last blogged about.

Sarah, Brian, and their kiddos came into town the weekend before the 4th of July, so by the time it actually got to be the 4th of July it felt like we had been away from home for way longer than six days.

Brian’s parents bought a cottage on Devil’s Lake, so we started off the week by spending the day on their lake. It was quite a change from our cottage because the kiddos could walk out right from the cottage and play in the shallow water.

The girls loved the jet skis!

Home for one day to regroup and repack . . .

. . . and then we were on our way up to our cottage for six days of fun. I let Lucy sit in the third row on the way up, and she was super happy about it.

We don’t know what they were talking about, but these four cuties sat out in the backyard and talked for a long time on Wednesday evening!

The weather was fantastic. I unplugged a bit and didn’t take many pictures, but it was basically boat . . . eat . . . sleep . . . repeat. There were fireworks Saturday and Sunday night on the lake. Saturday evening we let the kiddos stay up late. After dinner we occupied the kiddos with some poppers . . .

. . . and sparklers.

We went out on the boat for fireworks around 9:30, and this is the only picture I got.

The Brennan family left Sunday afternoon, so that left these little ladies to sit out on the front porch by themselves and eat some Pringles and chat.

We went home Monday evening just in time to let the kiddos run around outside with neighbors before our neighborhood’s spectacular fireworks display. The girls didn’t get to bed until 11:00 and I was SO happy to declare the 4th of July officially over! It was a great week, but we were all tired!

Alrighty, I’m going to stop there for today. The girls have an Encanto Dance Camp this week and will be gone each day from 9:30-1:00! This has never happened before and will be a little preview of what life will be like in the fall.

Have a great week!

XOXO

Classroom Before and After

Happy First Day of School! I’m coming up for a very quick breath of air to share my classroom before and after pics. I signed my contract at 3:30pm last Tuesday . . . that’s one week ago today. There was a lot of excitement and a lot of tears. In the blink of one […]

Mrs. Kissel: 2nd Grade Teacher!

Surprise! There are three Kissel ladies going back to school this year. Emily starts Kindergarten, Lucy’s in 2nd grade…and I’m coming out of retirement to teach second grade!!! (Not Lucy’s class!) I was hired Monday afternoon, and the amount of overwhelm and range of emotions I’ve felt since then has been, well, overwhelming! To those […]
