Happy Monday!
We’re living large (and hot!) at the cottage right now, but I wanted to share Lucy’s last week of first grade. It was filled with lots of fun . . . and THREE half days! geesh!
Last Tuesday was her last full day of school, and her very first field day. She was so excited!

I volunteered to help the entire day . . . 8:30-2:00 . . . and I’ve already written a note in my planner for next year to just do a half day! haha I got home and was SO tired, but it was fun to see Lucy do all of the stations with her friends.

Here she is on her first and last day of first grade. In the words of her Aunt Sarah, Lucy is basically “a short adult.” She’s not wrong!

Lucy wanted to get to the bus stop ten minutes early on the last day to ensure she’d be the first one in line for the bus. She made it!

After a half day of school on Friday, we headed across the street to celebrate summer with our neighbors. Lucy and Emmy did their first three-legged race, and it was so cute!

Sliding into summer!

Such a fun way to start the summer!

I’m not going to sugar coat it . . . Lucy and I were both ready for this school year to be over. Kindergarten was fantastic, but first grade was tough. Routines are hard, reading is hard, understanding the responsibility of homework is hard, trying not to compare yourself to others is hard. I know some years will be better than others, and I’m really hoping that second grade is an easier year for Lucy Belle.
In the meantime, our biggest girl is ready for summer!

You guys, I have a total of 17 DOZEN cookies to make later this week! I will ‘hopefully’ be back on Monday, but remember that between my cookies and my class I’m working on, I might be a little light on the posting this month.
Have a great week and stay cool!
XOXO
