Happy Monday, friends!
Just checking in for a quick life lately post. Spoiler alert: we’ve been busy!
Matty and I celebrated 16 years of marriage this month and, despite what the ill placed sign above us might suggest, we only celebrated with sushi and ice cream!

We spent Father’s Day weekend at the lake, and Penelope loves the lilly pad! She’s the first one on and the last one off.

All of that boat time is tiring for a little Cavapoo . . .

. . . and little girls too! Seriously, why do kids sleep so strangely?? They were next to one another when we put them to bed, but I found them like this at 3am. You may be wondering, “Molly, why were you photographing your children at 3am?” Good question! The answer is because I woke up at 2am to the sound of a smoke alarm chirping because the battery needed to be changed. Seriously, is there anything worse?! Ok, maybe a smoke alarm actually going OFF . . . or the sound of a dog about to throw up . . . but this is definitely up there! So I laid in bed for almost an hour telling myself to ignore it and go back to sleep, but I couldn’t. So then I spent another 10 minutes wandering around the cottage listening for that darn beep every 30 seconds, and I FINALLY determined that it was coming from the smoke detector in the girls’ room! Because of COURSE it was! They slept right through the beeping AND right through me going in with a chair and changing the battery with my phone flashlight. And in case you’re wondering . . . no, I most certainly did not fall back asleep easily after all that.

Matty made us some delicious mojitos. When I asked why they were so big, he said it was because it takes so long to make them that we’ve got to make it worth it. Sound reasoning when making alcoholic beverages.

And one more Penelope Pudding pic for good measure.

We celebrated Father’s Day with my dad last Thursday. I forgot to take a single picture of him with the girls, but I did get this one of the girls sunning themselves poolside.

We went to a pool party yesterday for Eleanor’s birthday, and I tried a Dutch braid on Lucy’s hair for the first time.

Lots of swimming . . . and Gatorade . . . and snacks!

Reagan was so sweet and taught the little girls a few things on her piano.

So yesterday we were gone allll day, and we have something else going on today that requires us to be gone allll day . . . so Penelope had a sleepover at the Olson house! They say to find friends that love your kids as their own . . . and the Olsons certainly do . . . but now they’re loving on our sweet puppy!

We miss that puppy like crazy and can’t wait to see her tonight!
Alrighty, that’s it for me for awhile. I’m going to take a week, possibly ten days, off from the blog. I have to finish my class, plus we’re leaving for the cottage again on Wednesday. I hope everyone has a fun and safe 4th of July!
XOXO
