My heart has been heavy the past few days, but I do want to keep up with my happy posts about my sweet girls who are, thankfully, safe and checking off some school milestones over these next few weeks. Honestly, if today could be the last day of school for both girls I wouldn’t complain. I would say that, in general, I don’t get super anxious about things but with every new school shooting (there’s a sentence I never thought I’d have to type) I become more keenly aware that the poor parents of all of these kiddos probably had a “it won’t happen in our school” mentality . . .just like me. There’s no rhyme or reason . . . lately I feel like it’s just luck that my girls come home each day. I’m going to thank my lucky stars that they are safe and get to do things like graduate preschool.
Ok, let’s try and lift our heavy hearts just a bit by celebrating something GOOD that happens at school . . . preschool graduation with adorable paper hats!
Here are Emily’s first and last day pictures. You guys, her allergies are OUT OF CONTROL right now and her eyes are so red and puffy. I feel like she didn’t even want to keep them open for pictures, poor girl.

On Monday, Emmy and her classmates walked out with these adorable hats and sang a few songs at the end of the day . . . and I use the term “sing” very loosely! ๐

Now that school is over and her schedule is clear, Emmy has more time for self care!

Oma and Papa bought her a Polly Pocket to celebrate her graduation.

Her class had one last field trip to Domino’s Farm on Wednesday. Unfortunately, it rained on and off and Emily’s allergies were really bothering her. We checked out the tractor and the animals, ate lunch, and then headed for home.

She loved this giant turtle!

Aww, we’ve been with Mrs. Lach for FOUR years, and we all just love her!

And because you know I can’t resist comparison pictures, here’s Emily on her very first day of Stay and Play next to her very last day of preschool. Oh my word! Back then she wanted to be a mean witch, but now she wants to be a farmer. I’d say that’s an upgrade!

This meme made me laugh as school wraps up. Take me back to Summer 2020 when all I had to do was keep my kids alive and everyone patted me on the back and said how awesome I was! haha

And that’s a wrap on the Preschool era at the Kissel house, and we can’t believe it! Emmy Roses is READY for Kindergarten, though, and we can’t wait to watch her grow and thrive in full day school . . . after a long, relaxing summer of course!
We’re heading to the cottage this weekend for the very first time since September, and we are excited! Have a great Memorial Day weekend!
XOXO
