Happy Monday!
The girls are on spring break this week. Will I survive? Only time will tell!
We had a great weekend celebrating Emmy’s upcoming fifth birthday, and I have allll the pics to prove it.
At the end of last week, Emily and I went to a story time at the Huron Valley Humane Society.
She got to help with the story . . .

. . . make a craft . . .

. . . visit the dogs . . .

. . . and pet Norm, an adorable kitten!

Thursday evening I went out to dinner with neighbors and ordered a very unMolly-like meal. These sliders on pretzel buns were delish!

Friday was Cerebral Palsy Awareness Day, and Lucy wore green to support a student at her school who has Cerebral Palsy. I surprised Lucy by doing lunch duty on Friday, but I was so busy opening up all the milk and chip bags that I totally forgot to snap a pic of us at school.

While I was doing the four hour lunch duty (classes are all spread out for lunch in the cafeteria now due to Covid, so it takes four hours to get everyone through), Matty and Emily took Penelope on a long walk.

After lunch duty I came home to put the finishing touches on my first cookie cake order! My writing needs a little practice still, but overall I think it looked pretty good.

We got Emily a desk for her birthday, and we decided to give it to her on Saturday morning. Why? 1. We bought it from someone in our neighborhood and we had to pick it up on Friday because they were going out of town. A big desk is kind of hard to hide around the house! 2. Family was coming over on Sunday for her party, and we knew they’d want to see her new desk.

She was SO EXCITED to have a desk of her own, and especially enjoyed the unicorn writing set that Aunt Sarah and Uncle Brian sent her to go with it. The girls pointed out that now I’m the only person in the house without a desk. Boo!

Saturday afternoon and evening was spent working on Emily’s cake. Can you tell what it is?

How about now?? haha

Here’s an action shot . . .

. . . and the finished product! The silliest looking bear I’ve ever seen! I REALLY wish I had made the snout a lighter color brown, but otherwise it was a pretty decent cake!

Emily slept in sponge rollers Saturday night. At 8:15 Sunday morning she emerged from her room with her hair done, party dress on, and asking if it was time for her party yet! haha

She passed some time by making her own little checklist of things that needed to be done for the party. I heard her going around the house saying things like, “Balloons . . check! Veggies . . . check! Party hats . . . check!” So. Unbelievably. Cute. Sidenote: see Matty vacuuming back there? What a guy!

Is she turning five or fifteen . . . when did she start looking like such a big girl?!

We had pizza and salad, opened gifts . . .

. . . and then took allll the pictures. Pro tip: make sure to take family pictures before cake. It gives the kiddos a little incentive to cooperate!

Then we finally sang Happy Birthday and had some delicious cake.

The rest of the day was spent playing with new toys, rollerblading, cleaning up, and me trying to recover from a crazy few days.
Have a great week!
XOXO
