. . . the Kissel girls had a fantastic weekend!
Lucy was definitely feeling that weekend vibe during breakfast on Friday morning!

After school on Friday, Emily enjoyed taking selfies to text to Aunt Carla. Emily LOVES emojis and will randomly ask to send people texts that are full of alllll the emojis.

Someone was feeling wacky for the weekend.

We went to Costco on Saturday, and the girls love having me take pictures of things they want. I’ll probably make my way back to get these as a Valentine’s Day treat.

And then, we fulfilled a lifelong dream of the Kissel girls by allowing them to eat lunch at Costco. They split a hot dog and a lemonade and could not have been happier about it!

On Saturday afternoon, Matty boy relaxed on the couch while watching golf, snuggling with Penelope, and eating a bowl of chocolate chip cookie dough that I brought to him. It was his own little slice of Heaven.

We had a birthday party bright and early on Sunday morning . . . it started at 9am! Our neighbors rented out all of Chuck E. Cheese so we could celebrate a special little guy turning five in a safe way. The girls have never been to Chuck E. Cheese, and they were very excited! See the purses they’re wearing? I made them bring their purses because I told them I wasn’t holding all of their tokens and tickets for them. Turns out that sometime between me going to Chuck E. Cheese as a kid and me taking my kids to Chuck E. Cheese, they’ve gone digital! #whoknew The kids each got a credit card to wear on their wrists that they scanned to play games and keep track of their tokens. While I understand the convenience of the digital system, nothing can beat the satisfaction of seeing 20 tickets fly out of the ski ball machine! I kind of felt badly that the girls didn’t get to experience that thrill.

These 13 kiddos had the place all to themselves, and it was SO much fun! Only the kiddos got play cards, but all the grown ups spent a good amount of time stealing the kids’ cards to swipe and play!

And finally, when I do my year in review post for 2022, this is all I’m going to post for January. Carla sent this to me, and we thought it was funny that I’m such an overachiever and did both of these things!

After the birthday party, there was catechism, grocery, and meal prep for the week. We’ve got a pretty standard week ahead of us, but I’ll be interested to see if we get the huge snow storm the news is predicting. Can you believe it’s already the last day of January?! Good riddance, I say. I’m ready to move to a new month and see if we can do better.
Have a great week!
XOXO
