We made it! . . . almost.
The big day is just about here, and I think we’re ready. If I’m being honest, having both girls home isn’t as holly jolly as I anticipated it would be, but we’re managing to make some Christmas magic amidst the chaos . . . and the time outs.
My parents always come over a few days before Christmas to make gingerbread houses with the girls, and the adults do their gift exchange. All my dad wanted this year was a new trash can for his yard waste. Think he knew what I got him?! LOL

The girls did great working on their gingerbread houses with my mom. I want everyone to know that, before we got to the picture portion of the day, Lucy went upstairs and got into the play makeup. Those lips!

My parents bought Penelope a new blanket to snuggle with at night, and she loves it!

Our elf got a little creative the other night and turned the back of our door into a snowman!

We had some friends over for dinner Tuesday night. Along with pizza and salad, I was excited to get to use my new tree serving board.

I set up an area for the girls to make reindeer food for Christmas Eve . . .

. . . and then they had a cute little gift exchange and played all night long!

Lucy has been a bit challenging lately, but she’s been working on being helpful in the mornings. The past two days she woke up before we did and went downstairs to start unloading the dishwasher. Three of the four wheels were off the bottom rack, but her heart was in the right place!

We did some candy cane science yesterday morning, and Lucy decided she needed to taste test some of the materials.

This is so me! I made my list and definitely checked it twice yesterday when I went to the grocery. I’m convinced I’m going to forget something I need for Christmas Day!

All of this is me! While I’m trying to not plan as many outings and just enjoy the season more this year, my brain is thinking about these things all. the. time.

At any rate, it’s going to be a great weekend, and I can’t wait to see how excited the girls will be on Christmas morning! I couldn’t find the online photo of our Christmas card, but here are the pictures we used. Merry Christmas from my family to yours!

I’m going to take next week off from blogging to enjoy having some time with family. I’ll be back on Monday, January 3rd. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! See you in 2022!!!
XOXO
