Happy Monday!
Still not done with the calendars, but figured I’d check in once this week before putting my nose back to the proverbial grindstone.
Unbeknownst to us, our weekend actually started Wednesday night. More on that in a minute, though.
Let’s kick things off with a festive Penelope picture. Because, why not?!

Monday evening the girls and I had to go purchase some items we donated to Lucy’s school for Christmas and then had to stop at Kroger as well. I was kind of dreading it, but the girls did a great job and were actually super polite and helpful! #miraclesdohappen

Tuesday evening we took the girls out for ice cream to celebrate Lucy’s great report card!

Wednesday we went about our day with heavy hearts because of the school shooting at Oxford high school. While it affected me emotionally, I didn’t really think it was going to affect us in any other way. Thus, I was very confused when my phone rang at 6am Thursday morning with the news that our district was closed due to online threats against schools in our county. ugh!

The girls were confused, but excited, when we let them sleep in Thursday morning. As far as they knew, the building had a power problem so kids couldn’t go to school.

After a lazy morning, we met my mom and her friend in Downtown Plymouth to go to lunch and spend some early Christmas money from Aunt Judie. Both girls chose to spend their money on a new stuffy! #nosurprisethere

They also donated some money to the Salvation Army and got the chance to ring the bell for a minute.

Lucy’s school was cancelled again for Friday, but Emily’s preschool was open. She was very happy about that because it was her day to take the Share Bag to school. She’s been waiting for WEEKS for her turn, and has had her clues ready for just about as long! She chose to put her big pink sloth stuffy in the bag and wrote the clues, “It’s big. It’s pink. It’s slow.” Melt my heart!

Lucy and Matty walked Penelope in the snow on Friday morning while I did some cleaning. She made it three miles!

After we picked Emily up from school, the rest of the day was spent crafting and taking a trip to Costco. Look how cute this picture frame is that the girls sewed!

Saturday morning we were up and in town bright and early for the annual Candy Cane Hunt. It was 37 degrees and windy, but the girls were super excited!

After gathering way too many candy canes, we got the chance to see Santa!

Santa and his elves were SO nice, and they gave each girl an elf stuffy, cocoa, and a sweet treat afterward! We were very impressed.

After the candy cane hunt we did a little scavenger hunt in the shops around town and got to meet Clarice the reindeer . . . Rudolph’s girlfriend!

We got home around lunch time, and the girls modeled all the free swag they got!

Saturday night we went out to dinner with friends and then to a comedy show. Very funny, VERY inappropriate! The show didn’t even start until 9:30, and I was struggling!

Sunday was a DAY, and the only good thing I have to report about it are a sampling of these cute cookie bags that I made for our neighbor to take to her Girl Scout cookie exchange.

School is back in session today, thank goodness, and my plan is to use my three free hours to finish wrapping presents and maybe grab the last few things I need. This made me laugh, but they forgot to add “but you also don’t want your husband to be mad about how much you bought!”

Have a great week!
XOXO
