They just keep coming! And next weekend will be the ultimate merry little weekend!
How’s everyone holding up in the final stretch before Christmas?? Last week I felt a little frazzled, but I’m feeling better this week. Nevertheless, this meme still resonated deeply with me.

Emily’s stress level is very low this holiday season. Exhibit A . . .

Exhibit B!

We had one of those rare nights on Thursday evening where the girls played so well together after school . . . so Penelope and I snuggled up to do some reading.

Emily found Penelope doing some stuffy snuggling and I HAD to stop brushing my teeth and come take a picture.

Lucy got to watch The Polar Express in school on Friday, and Emily wanted to have a movie day at home. Honestly, I do not care for The Polar Express AT ALL, so I convinced Emily to watch The Grinch . . . which I could watch every single day. Penelope enjoyed it too!

I love checking on the girls before we go to bed at night because they are usually doing something crazy. Lucy did not disappoint on Friday night.

We were iced in for a good part of the day on Saturday, which was perfect because I had already planned to do nothing all day long. It was Day 1 of vacation, and I wanted to relax! We made some place cards for Christmas dinner at my parents’ house . . .

. . . did this Nativity craft that turned out SO cute . . .

. . . and Penelope and I did a little more reading. Also, I may or may not have dozed on my bed while the girls watched Happy Feet in the afternoon. We’re going to try and watch one movie per day over break. #goals

What better way to spend a lazy day at home than getting into my pj’s and enjoying a beverage in my new drinkware from the White Elephant party we went to on Friday night. In case you’re wondering, yes, that is the gift that I took to the party. The gift I opened at the party was an XL Star Wars sweatshirt that, thankfully, got stolen from me in the last round. There wasn’t any other gift that I was dying to steal from someone . . . so I took my own!! LOL I loved this cup and am so happy it’s mine!

Penelope Pudding does vacation right!

Our elf brought the girls some new play doh on Sunday morning, and they played so well together making cookies!

After lunch it was time to go shopping for our 2nd Annual Sister Stuffy Exchange!

This year we split up to conquer our to do lists. Matt and Lucy went to the Five Below in Brighton and then to Costco afterward . . .

. . . while Emily and I went to the Five Below in Novi and then to Kroger.

After a successful shopping trip, we got home just in time to put away the groceries before heading out to bowling and dinner with some neighbors. These kiddos did such a great job bowling together, entertaining each other, and basically not needing much grown up intervention at all!

After bowling we went to dinner at the Hotel, and these kiddos were so focused on their activity books that the adults actually got to have conversations! What is this alternate universe we’re living in?!

After dinner the girls exchanged their gifts. Apparently, it’s also going to be a tradition that the girls exchange their gifts on the day they buy them!

I mean . . . Lucy picked out the craziest sloth stuffy for Emmy that is shedding everywhere, but Emily LOVES it!

Today my parents are coming over for a little Christmas lunch where the grown ups will exchange gifts and my mom will make gingerbread houses with the girls. Why is it a tradition that Oma does the houses with the girls? . . . because THIS IS ME!

Ugh! I genuinely don’t enjoy doing it! I know that’s terrible. You know what else I don’t enjoy doing with my girls? . . . Decorating sugar cookies. There, I said it! But, my neighbor had a ton of cut out cookies leftover so she sent me a bag of them. I bought a container of store bought frosting that I’ll dye red and green for them and let them go to town. I don’t even know who I am anymore!
Have a Holly Jolly Week!
XOXO
