Happy Thursday!
I really didn’t know what to blog about today, so I decided to document my day yesterday. Wednesdays are typically my least favorite days because Matty has a lot of meetings and we have gymnastics right after school . . . so taking lots of pictures made it a little more enjoyable.
Up and in the shower bright and early!

Lucy woke up a little earlier than normal yesterday, but we usually have to wake her up for school.

Emily didn’t want to get out of bed at 7:00 . . . can you blame her with such a cozy room??

Lucy tried to climb in with her and, oh boy, Emily was not having it!

I went downstairs to feed Penelope and let her out . . .

. . . and Lulu had made her way downstairs.

Emily needed a few extra snuggles so I went back upstairs for a few minutes and finally coaxed her out of bed.

I came back down to find Matty emptying the dishwasher . . . which is totally my love language!

Breakfast is usually a crazy affair.

By 7:45 this crew was off to the bus stop, and I get about 10 minutes of alone time to clean up breakfast and make the beds. In case you couldn’t tell, Emily still was not in the best of moods . . . which is rare for her.

We typically have about 45 minutes between walking Lucy to the bus stop and having to drive Emily to school. Yesterday we used some of the time to fold towels . . .

. . . and then left a few minutes early so we could stop at the hardware store before school to pick up some command strips for decorating.

By 9:00 both girls were at school, and I took a few minutes to eat some breakfast before . . .

. . . doing some more decorating! This little area is typically not my favorite, but a little Christmas cheer makes it better.
The mantel and stockings are up as well!

By the time I cleaned and decorated those areas and got everything put away, it was time to head back to preschool to pick up Emily. Time flies when you’re trying to get stuff done!

Back home and ready for lunch!

After lunch Emily played with kinetic sand while I got a batch of Snickerdoodle dough in the fridge to chill. I have a huge order for next weekend, so I’ve slowing been baking and freezing cookies.

After I cleaned up the kitchen I got Emmy settled in her room for 30 minutes of quiet time. I used that cherished time to listen to my audio book . . .

. . . and put fresh sheets on Lucy’s bed. Bunk beds are great for many things, but changing the sheets is a royal pain!

Then it was time to bake the Snickerdoodles . . .

. . . and make a car snack for on the way to gymnastics. We have about 15 minutes from the time Lucy gets off the bus until we have to be in the car for gymnastics, and I dread it every week!

We made it to gymnastics on time!

While the girls are in class, I get an hour and a half to blog, read, listen to my audio book, etc. I’m usually good sitting in the chair for about an hour . . . I get a little antsy the last 30 minutes.

We don’t get home from gymnastics until 6:30. Matty has a weekly 5pm meeting and then the plan was for him to make dinner and have it ready when we got home. Well, when we arrived at 6:30 he was still on his call! We debated on what to do about dinner and then decided to just make what we had planned and push bath time back a bit. One of us has the crazy eyes because she knows the next hour or so is going to be chaos!

Homemade chicken burgers for the win! Lucy has been suuuuuper picky lately, but she will devour a burger.

We finished dinner around 7:15ish and then I made Lucy’s lunch and finished closing up the kitchen while Matty got the girls in the bath.

By 8:00 everyone was bathed, read to, and tucked in toasty tight!

Penelope found her nightly snuggle spot while Matty and I finished up our night time chores.

Penelope picked a spot with a great view!

After straightening up, making my to-do list for the next day, and throwing in a load of laundry, I’m officially calling it a night! It’s time for a nice, hot shower and some book time in bed . . . before I get up and do it all over tomorrow!

Have a great weekend!
XOXO
