Happy Thursday!
Even though it’s been a super stressful month or so, the girls are unaware of what’s been going on, so we’ve managed to keep them busy and have some fun. It feels like forever since I’ve posted some pictures, so here we go!
At the end of September, we celebrated Sadie turning TWELVE!

Emily wants a desk in her room so badly, and she currently makes good use of the time while Lucy’s at school to play at Lucy’s desk.

This is Lucy all. the. time.

The girls spent the weekend at my parents a few weekends ago, and had some quality cousin time with Gordie.

While I was recovering from the miscarriage, Penelope was by my side constantly. She is the best snuggle buddy ever!

Here’s Emily enjoying the wind in her hair . . . and her face . . . and her tongue.

If there’s someone on the couch, Penny is snuggling with them!

I bought the girls some small pumpkins to let them carve however they wanted. Lucy carved a spooky face in hers, and Emily had fun practicing with the carving tool.
We went to the cottage last weekend so that Matty could winterize the boat. While he was busy working, I took the girls to a nearby farm/orchard for some cider, donuts, and playtime.

They have a bird enclosure where you can buy a popsicle stick with peanut butter and bird seed on it and then go in and walk around. Lucy LOVED it, Emily liked it, and I hated every second of it! There were birds flying everywhere! You had to duck to avoid getting hit in the head by one, but at the same time you had to be careful where you stepped because there were so many birds walking on the ground.

Watching the girls have fun on the slide was much more my speed.
And then after we got back to the lake, we worked on a gingerbread spooky graveyard set that our neighbors gave us.

This was a first: While I was putting Emily to bed, Penelope curled up in a tight little ball right next to her. I figured she’d jump down when I left, but she didn’t! This was them about two hours after I put Emmy to bed!

Lucy started riding the bus to and from school this week, and she is loving it! She is so excited to walk to the bus stop with her friends every morning.

In case you want an easy, spooky snack, these banana ghosts were a hit with the girls!

Emily and I were having some reading time in her room. Emily got off my lap to go get monkey, and Penelope jumped right up! I made Ems finish story time standing next to the chair. haha

We had conferences for Lucy this week, and getting to see Super Lucy was my favorite part!

Finally, we had our last veggie pick up at the farm this week. We got to have cider and donuts and pick any leftover flowers in the gardens. The girls had a great time and were bummed to say goodbye to Farmer Cindy and Farmer Rich.
Phew! And now I think you’re all caught up on life at the Kissel house.
Have a great weekend!
XOXO
