Oh my!
We had a very busy but fun-filled weekend.
Our weekend actually started last Wednesday afternoon. Matty had a light work week, so we decided to head up to the cottage for a few days with just our little family. The mornings/evenings were cool and the afternoons were hot. It was perfect weather!
We had lazy mornings that included fancy braids . . .

. . . and crafting.

The girls are little fishes and love getting thrown off the boat!

This was the first time we remembered to bring a ball for Penelope to fetch in the water, and she loved it!

A long walk, swimming, and fetching the ball was too much for our little Cavapoo!

A sweet sister snack time moment.

The girls don’t love tubing yet, but guess who does . . .

. . . ME!! haha It was so much fun to go on the single tube.

It was a great couple of days with our girlies.

Saturday morning we headed home bright and early, dropped off our stuff, and then drove down to my parents’ house to celebrate my dad’s birthday.

And after a few hours with my parents, it was time to move on to Grandpa Gary’s house because they had rented ponies for the grandkids to ride!

Aunt Judie was there too, which was a fun surprise!

Here’s Daisy . . .

. . . and Buddy.

These little cowgirls got to go on so many rides, and they had a blast.

All the talk of pony riding gave my mom the idea to pull out these photos. Here’s my dad and me when I was little. Lucy asked what was on my head. Bangs, Lucy, bangs . . . never get them! haha

And here’s my dad riding a pony when he was little!

There were five grandkids, but only the three girls were interested in riding the horses so they got a bunch of rides.

After pony rides, it was time for a ride in Grandpa Gary’s convertible. The girls were so excited to get to sit in the front seat.
Disclaimer #1: They were in a booster seat.
Disclaimer #2: The passenger airbags were turned off.
Disclaimer #3: It was a very short ride.

Finally, we went to our friends’ house on Whitmore Lake Sunday afternoon. They plan was to eat some food and then go out on their boat. But, the weather wasn’t super warm and then some rain came and cooled it down even more. It really wasn’t a big deal, though, because these four cuties played so amazingly well for SIX HOURS! We couldn’t believe it!

And because you know I love a good comparison pic, here are Ella and Lucy the first time they met! Ella is almost exactly two months older than Lucy. We joked that they practically look like the same person now in the bottom picture!

Phew! What a weekend! That sinus infection is still affecting me, and Matty commented that he’s never known me to sleep as much as I have this past week. I’m hoping that this is my week to get back on track. The girls are going to a Moana-themed dance camp every morning this week, and I intend to make the most of my three free hours every morning. Look out closets and pantry . . . I’m coming for you!
XOXO
