Happy Thursday!
I’ve got a quick one for you today.
Monday was a cool, dreary day around here . . . perfect time for the ice cream truck to drive by! haha The truck had the Good Humor Toasted Almond and Strawberry Shortcake bars. I LOVE the Toasted Almond and they’re darn near impossible to find in the store, so I bought one of those for me and a Strawberry Shortcake for Matty. We didn’t really feel like eating them, though, (gasp!) so they’re still sitting in our freezer. One day soon the urge is going to hit and we’ll be so happy they’re there!

There’s a local farm here in South Lyon that offered a vegetable club this summer. You pay a flat rate and then go every other Tuesday evening to pick up whatever vegetables have come in that week. We did our first pick up on Tuesday evening, and it was a great experience.

We got to walk around the farm for a few minutes during a break in the rain, but then it started again. We look forward to exploring more of it next time we go.

It’s kind of hard to tell in the picture, but this guy was legit smiling for me! He’s a goat after my own heart. There’s a sentence I never thought I’d type.

Not a bad haul! This is going to make an amazing salad!

Yesterday was Penelope Pudding’s Gotcha Day! We brought her home one year ago. Look how cute and little she was . . .

. . . and what a fluffy little pooch she’s grown in to! We think she’s the bee’s knees and haven’t once regretted our decision to get her.

Finally, I’ll be taking a vacation from the blog until next Thursday. Why? Because Matty and I are heading to the cottage for an ADULTS ONLY weekend! This mama cannot even believe it! We’re going up with four other couples, and between all of us, there are eight kiddos and three dogs being left at home with grandparents. They are really stepping up so that we can have four glorious days and three glorious nights of kid-free time, and we are SO appreciative. It’s going to be a great weekend, and how can it not be with a weather forecast like this?!

The weather gods are definitely shining down on us for this trip! If you need me, I’ll be on a boat with a drink, my friends, and a good book. I look forward to not being responsible for wiping anyone’s hands, face, or booty. #hopefully ๐
See you back here next Thursday!
XOXO
Hope you have a great trip away! When I moved to Minnesota, I finally moved into a neighborhood that gets an ice cream truck and while I never personally get ice cream from it, my niece is coming in August and something tells me that she might love what your daughters got … do you remember what they chose? I don’t think I’ve seen the ice cream bar that Emily got before. But it looks like something my niece would love and if I can’t find it on the ice cream truck I might just try to get it from the store! lol!
Emily had a Good Humor Birthday Cake bar and loved it!
