Today’s a big day for Matty and me. On this day 15 years ago, we said our “I do’s” on an 85 degree day in a non air conditioned church.

I did a huge recap for our 10 year anniversary, so please consider this post as an addendum to that post.
Our first 10 years were all about us as a couple, but these last five years have been all about us as parents!
Lucy was just over a year old when we celebrated our ten year anniversary, and a lot has happened since then.
Lulu announced to the world that she was going to be a big sister . . . which was a HUGE surprise to all of us! haha

When I was pregnant with Emily, I snuck away for a few days to join Matty on a business trip to California. We spent a glorious few days exploring Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Newport Beach, and Malibu.

And then on March 21, 2017 Miss Emily Rose Kissel was born!

Amidst the throes of parenting two little ladies, we lost both of our dingos six weeks apart in 2018. 🙁

In July of 2018 we bought our house in South Lyon and love living here!

We turned another Matty work trip into a mini-getaway when we went to Dallas together in January 2019 . . .

. . . and then we took the whole crew, including the grandmas, to Disney World in December. The girls had a blast, we were exhausted, but we were so thankful we got to Disney before everything shut down.

We survived our first (and hopefully ONLY!) pandemic/quarantine/lockdown in 2020.

We also hopped on the pandemic puppy train and brought home Penelope Pudding Cookie Kissel last July. She is the greatest puppy in the world!
We’ve learned the importance of celebrating the little things in life . . . like our first trip to Costco without wearing masks . . .

. . . or a boat ride without kiddos!

Do I love Matty more now than when I met him? Nope, I couldn’t love him anymore than I already did . . . but would it make sense to say I love him differently? Marriage is work sometimes, but we put in the effort and make a great team. It’s been an amazing fifteen years! Just look what we’ve built together! . . .

Happy Anniversary, babe!
XOXO
