Happy Thursday!
We’ve had a BUSY week, and I don’t have very many pictures to share. Here are three things of note from this week.

- I got my second Covid shot on Monday, and the view wasn’t too shabby! Thankfully, I didn’t have any side effects afterward. Was I *maybe* hoping for some minor aches and pains or a low grade fever so I’d have an excuse to lay in bed and sleep/read while Matty handled the girls. #possibly

2. Emmy and her little crew of friends were playing outside the other day when one of her friends decided to jump in a mud puddle . . . and Emmy paid the price! She handled it like a champ, though.

3. The girls were so excited for week 2 of running club! They both did so awesome . . . Lucy ran 1.5 miles and Ems ran just slightly less. We’re so proud of them!
It’s Mother’s Day weekend, and we’ve got lots of plans. On Friday, my mom and I are going shopping and out to lunch . . . just the two of us! It’s the one time a year we make that happen. Friday afternoon is the Mother’s Day Tea at Lucy’s school, and I’m probably way more excited than I should be. On Sunday I hope to just hang out at home and do whatever pops into my head. Maybe we’ll do yard work . . . maybe we’ll go for a bike ride . . . maybe I’ll lay on the couch and read my book. My mood (and the weather!) will determine the direction for the day. Regardless of what we do, Rita will come over for dinner and a yummy dessert.
I copy and paste this same paragraph every single year on my post right before Mother’s Day. I wrote it once, and there’s no need to write it a different way:
Whatever your Mother’s Day looks like this year, I hope there is a little bit of joy. If you’re struggling to become a mother, if you’re struggling as a mother, or if you’ve lost your mother, my hope is that you cut yourself a little slack on Sunday and give yourself some time to relax and just be happy. If there’s a baby shaped hole in your heart, I pray it’ll be filled one day soon. If you’ve lost your mama, I’m sure she’s smiling down on you today. And if you’re in the thick of motherhood like I am, I hope your husband makes a few decisions for you today so your brain can take a rest . . . and a few mimosas on the side wouldn’t hurt! 😉
Have a great weekend and Happy Mother’s Day!
XOXO
