Spoiler Alert: We didn’t travel anywhere.
Boo!
But staying home isn’t so bad when you have PERFECT weather! Lots of people in our little neighborhood were gone, but we managed to have a fun, quiet week here at home.
Matty took my car and headed to the cottage for a few days of chores and golfing, so our break started off with a few girl days. We loaded into daddy’s small car and headed to the park!

If there’s snacks, these girls are eating them!

We went with our neighbors, but found lots of extra friends to play with.

Excuse my hand in the corner of the picture, but look at this sweet sister moment!

A quick Target run before heading home for lunch . . .

. . . on the deck! Yes!!

Penelope enjoyed a snack of ice cubes and a DentaStix.

The rest of the day was spent outside playing with our neighbors across the street . . . and their guinea pig!

The four kiddos had a blast driving our pink car all around . . .until the battery died. I had to push it home, and then the kiddos eventually scattered . . .

. . .which meant my neighbor Kim, who is SO AFRAID of dogs, had to walk Penelope. She did great!

While I made dinner, the girls decorated this giant box on the deck. . .

. . . and Penelope chewed on her new bone, which I accidentally bought in the giant dog size! hahaha It’s almost as big as she is, but she seems to enjoy it.

When daddy’s away, it’s homemade pancakes and sausage for dinner.

Wednesday morning was errands and shopping with my girls. I don’t have any pictures because I was too busy holding all the clothes they were picking out! #girlmom
It was 80 degrees and sunny on Wednesday so we walked to the Kona Ice Truck after lunch, which was parked at our pool house.

And then the bathing suits, squirt guns, water balloons, and guinea pig came out!

Thursday morning we went to my friend Marie’s house for a playdate. More perfect weather meant more outside play time. If this isn’t the sweetest little friend picture you’ve ever seen, then I don’t know what is!

After the playdate, the girls and I had a yummy lunch in downtown Plymouth. It’s so easy to take them out to eat by myself now!

A little monkey see, monkey do action. Water AND lemonade.
Friday was our fourth straight day of hard outside play, and by mid afternoon the girls (and me!) were getting pretty tuckered out. We called it an early night and watched Croods 2 after dinner.

Saturday morning started with some epic rounds of Hide and Seek. Dog crate . . .

. . . the girls’ bathtub . . .

. . . and Matty found the coziest hiding spot!

Stuffy parade! I’ve said this before, but basic play activities like this make me so happy!

Saturday afternoon was gorgeous, and the girls played across the street at the neighbor’s while Matty did his first lawn mowing of the season and I perused a real dud of a cookbook. Thank goodness I got it from the library and didn’t buy it!

Then we made unicorn terrariums on the deck . . .

. . . enjoyed PEZ for the first time . . .

. . . and went out for a delicious dinner with Grandma Rita!

Yesterday we spent six hours at my parents’ house so Matty could watch The Masters in peace. The girls enjoyed pizza, salad, and homemade orange jello with mandarin oranges and whipped cream.

We also had a late afternoon nail painting session.

We drove through some rain on our drive home, but pulled over to snap a picture of this pretty rainbow when we were almost home!

Wow!
It was more like “Spring Busy” than “Spring Break!” It was a great week that was made so perfect by the weather.
We’re back to our regular routine this week with dance, Emmy’s four year well visit, and both Matty and I get our first Covid shots! I’m getting mine today, and he’s getting his on Thursday. We decided to divide and conquer so that if we experience any side effects we aren’t getting them at the same time.
Have a great week!
XOXO
