Happy Thursday!
I hope you’ve been experiencing/enjoying the sunny and warmer weather as much as we have. It got up to 50 degrees today, and it was glorious! It’s going to be chilly again tomorrow, but the sun will still be out so I’ll take it.
We’re in the middle to tail end portion of a little room redo for the girls. We moved Emily’s bed to its rightful place on top of Lucy’s to make bunk beds . . . which means Emily is currently without a bed. It’s due to arrive next week, but her mattress came last week. The girls and Matty gave it a try.

Look at that cute ballerina working on her homework while Emily is in class.

Our good friend Stephanie celebrated a big birthday last week, so we popped over after school one day to celebrate her.

When the girls are in school, I toss on Matty’s noice cancelling headphones and listen to my audio book while I vacuum. Yes, that’s still an empty front room in our house! I’m a big believer in the “make your house work for you” philosophy. When we moved in, we weren’t quite sure what to do with this room and didn’t want to just buy furniture willy nilly to fill it up. It very quickly became obvious that this room was great for the girls to dance, do gymnastics, build forts, etc. Does it bother me sometimes? You betcha, especially since it’s the first room people see when they walk in our front door. Am I starting to create Pinterest boards to figure out what I want? Also, yes. We’ll get there eventually, but for now you can catch our little ladies practicing their cartwheels and doing karaoke.

Remember that room overhaul? Emily got tired of sleeping in the bunk beds and wanted to sleep on the mattress on the floor in her own room. Lucy wanted to go in with her, so I moved one of her bunk bed mattresses onto the floor as well. I love that they like sleeping together, but I’ll be happy when there are proper beds everywhere.

This is how we found them when we peeked in before bed . . .

. . . look at Emily!!

Aunt Sarah sent us some hot cocoa bombs, and the girls thoroughly enjoyed them after school one day.

I was the mystery reader in Lucy’s class on Monday, and I was so excited! I SO WISH I could have done it in person, but Zoom will have to do. Look how professional I was with my goldfish laptop desk!

Suns out and so are all the kiddos. Melt snow, melt!

Lucy got roller skates for her birthday last year, but has recently shown an interest in roller blades. She borrowed a pair from our neighbor and took off! I know what’s going to be on her list this year!

And in a surprising turn of events . . . Emily decided she wanted to try Lucy’s roller skates and is doing great! It took just a day or two or practice and then she was off and running . . . or should I say off and skating.

What a difference five days makes . . . almost no more snow! Matty did a little raking yesterday while Ems did some sweeping.

The girls were trying to get the perfect picture of them jumping in the air together.

Things went downhill quickly!

Lucy’s school has been having a Dr. Seuss week and doing fun dress days to coordinate with different books. Yesterday was Wacky Wednesday, and I think we nailed it!

The green hue of the car wash was very exciting for Emmy . . .

. . . but not as exciting as these new pajamas from Target!

The teachers at Lucy’s school are taking turns recording bedtime stories for the kiddos to watch. The girls thoroughly enjoyed watching it last night, and I enjoyed getting a night off!

I am READY for the weekend. We’ve had a bit of a busy week, and I’m ready to sleep in and relax. We’re going to see some friends whom we haven’t seen in ages, so I’m looking forward to that. Otherwise, we’ll just be enjoying the sunshine!
Have a great weekend!
XOXO
