Happy Monday!
We had a very busy weekend, and it’s clear that the Kissels have lost their stamina! We’re not used to doing so much anymore! Clearly, we’re going to have to up our game before summer gets here.
Friday was my birthday! It was also Lucy’s 100th day of Kindergarten, and the kids all dressed up as if they were 100 years old. Here’s our 3 year old, our 39 year old, and our 100 year old!

Friday was pretty much business as usual . . . except that I got to clean the house while listening to my audiobook while Matty played with Ems. Don’t roll your eyes, it truly was a great gift! After Lucy got home, Matty got to work making my cake . . .

. . . I opened up my very own pair of engraved air pods . . .

. . . and we had some delicious sushi take out for dinner!

My parents and Rita came over for lunch on Saturday, and the girls and I worked on building some cup towers while we waited for them to arrive. Penelope kept knocking Lucy’s over, and she was NOT happy about it.

We ate some delicious Buddy’s pizza and salad and then opened presents. I have given up/sacrificed many things since becoming a mama, but I love my birthday and I REALLY like to open my own gifts. No matter how much I asked them not to, the girls just kept grabbing gifts and ripping them open. This is a fake smile.

After gifts it was time for the delicious carrot cake that Matty made for me.

Look at that thick layer of cream cheese frosting!

Look at me lovingly gazing at both of my girls as everyone sings to me . . . and then Lucy blew out my candle before I even had a chance to try.
Sigh.
My standard Penelope Pudding pose.

Sunday morning we were up bright and early to drive to Lansing for snow tubing. I made our reservation about a month ago . . . back when I didn’t know it was going to be one of the coldest days of the year! Nine degrees and windy . . . at least the sun was out!

Four little ladies, all bundled up and ready to tube . . .

. . . and four parents who were just as excited as the kiddos!

It was cold, for sure, but not as bad as I had anticipated. The face masks were definitely a plus! We had a two hour reservation, but the kiddos could only hang for about an hour before they were too cold.

Remember how I said we’d lost our stamina? As soon as she walked in the door from tubing, Emily walked herself right upstairs and laid on her bed until lunch was ready. And then after lunch, these two took to the couch for a bit.

What a great birthday weekend!
This week we move on from birthday celebrations to Valentine’s Day parties.
Have a great week; stay warm!
XOXO
