Happy Monday!
I hope everyone felt the love this past weekend, I know we sure did at the Kissel house!
I mentioned to Matty that I was struggling with my 5:30 alarm last week. On Thursday he volunteered to take both girls to school, which gave me an extra 30 minutes of time to myself in the morning. I slept in til 6:30 and then did my workout upstairs with Penelope while Matty did drop off. It was such a fun treat! I probably should have put Penelope in her crate and went into the basement, though, because my pilates quickly turned into puplates . . . get it?

I got this new Swig Mug for my birthday, and I love it. It’s adorable, holds the perfect amount of tea . . . or margarita, and it fits in the cupholder in my car! #win
I now own two of these mugs much to Matty’s dismay because he says we’re a Yeti family. For the most part I agree, but Yeti just doesn’t make anything as cute as this!

Emmy Roses helped me make some Cupid Crunch for our neighbors.

When I dropped Lucy off at school on Friday morning, they were handing out roses to each family!

I prepped this game for that dreaded winter time period of 4-6pm. Each heart had a scavenger hunt item written on the back, and the girls took turns running to find each item and then bringing it back to us. Matty and I got about 20 minutes on the couch to enjoy a drink while the girls brought us their items!

I ran out to pick up some lunch on Friday, and when I got home there was a triple stack waiting for me at the door!

The girls had sleepovers at their grandparents’ houses on Saturday! Matty’s gift to me was to drive them down himself while I got to stay home. I watched a show, took Penelope on a long walk, shoveled our snow, and then showered and crawled into bed to watch some shows until it was time to meet our friends for dinner. It was a glorious afternoon! Also, I haven’t eaten inside a restaurant since the pandemic started, so we were really pumped for our romantic Valentine’s dinner for four! ๐
Matty and I are each listening to audio books that we are enjoying but can’t listen to when the girls are in the car. We decided that for the hour drive down to my parents’ house on Sunday that he would listen to his audio book on Car Play and I’d listen to mine on his headphones. He snapped this not very flattering picture of me as I was leaned back, zoned out, warm in the sun, snuggling with my doggie, and listening to my book. It. Was. Amazing. (Side note: we discussed the ramifications of our decision first. We are together 24/7 and talk all the time, so we figured it wasn’t bad for us to ignore one another for an hour in the car.)

I’ve become a bit obsessed with the “stage lighting” feature on my phone, and I got my parents in on the fun this weekend.

And finally, there was some serious snuggling going on during the pre-bedtime show on Sunday.

Not pictured are all the treats, toys, and trinkets that the girls got from friends and family over the weekend. They definitely were feeling the love!
Both girls have mid winter break this week, so our schedule is looking a little different. We have some fun things planned, and I’m really hoping the weather doesn’t interfere with any of it!
Have a great week!
XOXO
