Happy Thursday!
Valentine’s Day is about a week and a half away, and I’ve been getting things ready . . .both for our celebration here at home and for the girls’ parties at school.
You know I love a holiday . . . and any excuse to put together a little gift for the girls. I MIGHT have gone a tad overboard this year. #oops
I’ll show you what I have, but maybe I’ll end up saving something for their Easter baskets . . . we shall see.
First up, is their main little gift: these card holders!
They’re the same length (about 14″), the perspective is just weird.

UNO has been a huge hit at our house, and we often get slowed down because the girls are shuffling through all their cards. My friend Lisa posted a picture of her daughter using something similar to this, and I knew we had to have them too. Lisa’s crafty dad made hers. When I broached the subject with Matty, I believe his exact words were, “Who do I look like, Bob Vila?!’ So . . . .Amazon it is, then!
I love how the cards will be “stadium style, ” but the holders seemed a little boring to me . . .

. . . but that’s nothing that a quick trip to Hobby Lobby couldn’t fix!

I’m not looking to win any design awards, but I do think that just adding the girls’ names and a few stickers really fancies things up a bit. Don’t you??

It’s not Valentine’s Day without adding a few sweet treats to the mix, so here are a few other things I grabbed. The boxes are from Hobby Lobby, and I bought them back in 2018 and just keep reusing them!
They’ll each get a bag of heart shaped fruit snacks, a $1 box of Russell Stover candies, a bookmark, and a cute tube of Lip Smackers chapstick.

I’ll put everything except the card holders in the boxes and have them sitting out on the table on Valentine’s Day morning.

Now, after I snapped these pictures, I remembered that I forgot about something I’d purchased and stashed away in my closet . . . these Twisty Petz! They are little toys that you can untwist and turn into a bracelet. These are right up the girls’ alley! I included a link to Amazon, but they seem to be $5-$10 more on Amazon than what I paid for them. I actually found them at my parents’ Super Kroger for $9.99 a piece.

When you put it all together it seems like a bit much for Valentine’s Day, doesn’t it? Perhaps I’ll save the Twisty Petz for their Easter baskets. I’ll make it a game time decision based on their behavior leading up to Valentine’s Day!

As far as Valentine’s for school go, I picked up some little trinkets from the Dollar Tree for each girl to take in for their friends. I really wish I had looked on Amazon first, though, because there are some cute ideas!
For example, look at this cute pack of 30 Valentines and slap bracelets!

Temporary tattoos are all the rage in both preschool and Kindergarten!

These foam art crafts come individually wrapped, and would be great to hand out for a Valentine.

These keychains would have been my first choice, and I think I’ll keep them in mind as little trinkets to send into school for the girls’ birthdays.

Since Valentine’s Day is on a Sunday this year, I plan to have a movie afternoon with the girls and snack on some Cupid Crunch!

- 1 bag of popped popcorn
- 2 cups Chex Cereal
- 2 cups pretzel sticks
- 1 bag Valentine M&M’s
- 1 jar Valentine sprinkles
- 1 package of Vanilla Bark
- In a LARGE bowl, mix everything together except the Vanilla Bark. Melt the bark according to the package directions, drizzle over the mixture, and stir well.Pour onto a large cookie sheet lined with wax paper. I usually scatter some more sprinkles on top at this point and then let everything cool. So easy. So quick. So yummy!!
Alrighty, that’s all for today. I hope you have a great weekend. We’ve got a very busy weekend planned, and it all starts tomorrow with a birthday for a very special someone.
Spoiler alert . . . it’s ME! 😉
See you back here on Monday!
XOXO
