Penelope Pudding Pup-date

January 21, 2021 by Molly Leave a Comment

We’ve had our sweet girl six months now, and we can’t imagine life without her!

I would say 90% of the time she is fantastic. She’s been on a bit of a naughty streak lately, though, and has discovered the bathroom trash cans, the shoes in my closet, and any toy the girls leave on the floor. She wasn’t doing this in her early puppyhood, and I recently read online that Cavapoos can turn into “naughty rascals” from the ages of 7-12 months. I definitely agree with that!

Other than that, she is seriously the sweetest dog. She sleeps in her crate all night long, eats well, rarely has an accident, and will walk for miles no matter the weather.

Speaking of weather, Penny loves the snow *almost* as much as she loved the falling leaves in the fall. She’ll bound around in it, chase snow balls, and eat all the white stuff she can get her furry little muzz on.

Right now, Penelope’s biggest downfall is that she appears to be a runner. We’re working really hard on training her to “stay” when we open a door or gate, but sometimes she just can’t help herself. We had her microchipped, but I definitely seen an Invisible Fence in our future.

Penelope helps herself to the finer things in life, and doesn’t hesitate to lay on any piece of furniture in the house. We don’t mind, though, because she doesn’t shed and she’s never tried to chew on any of the furniture.

At first it seemed as though Penelope was latching on to me the most, but ever since winter hit she seems to have switched over to Matty. #traitor

He’s taken over a lot of the walking duties since it’s so cold, and she often lays on his lap while he works at his computer during the day. Once the better weather is back and I start my morning outdoor walks again, I’m going to lure her back to my side!

The girls continue to be as obsessed with Penelope as the day we brought her home. They do a great job helping to bathe her, brush her, feed her, play with her, and snuggle her. . . and Penelope loves them right back! She loves bounding into the girls’ rooms every morning to jump on their beds and lick them awake.

We got Penelope on July 14, and she weighed five pounds. The last time we weighed her here at home, she weighed in at 16 pounds! She’s a growing puppy, and we couldn’t love her more!

Here she is at two months when we got her vs. eight months right now.

Have a great weekend!

XOXO

Classroom Before and After

Happy First Day of School! I’m coming up for a very quick breath of air to share my classroom before and after pics. I signed my contract at 3:30pm last Tuesday . . . that’s one week ago today. There was a lot of excitement and a lot of tears. In the blink of one […]

Mrs. Kissel: 2nd Grade Teacher!

Surprise! There are three Kissel ladies going back to school this year. Emily starts Kindergarten, Lucy’s in 2nd grade…and I’m coming out of retirement to teach second grade!!! (Not Lucy’s class!) I was hired Monday afternoon, and the amount of overwhelm and range of emotions I’ve felt since then has been, well, overwhelming! To those […]
