Letters to Santa

December 14, 2020 by Molly Leave a Comment

Happy Monday!

Much like everything else this year, our Santa plan looked a little bit different. We decided fairly early on that we weren’t going to take the girls to see Santa. He usually stops by our clubhouse, but decided to stay at the North Pole this year, so we opted not to seek him out elsewhere. Honestly, it was about 20% sad and 80% liberating! It kind of felt good to cross one stressor off the proverbial holiday to do list.

However, you know how important pictures are to me so there was no way I could let 2020 go unremembered. We emailed a picture of the girls to the North Pole, and our elf brought the cutest picture of the girls “with” Santa.

Since the girls are getting better at writing, we decided to have them write letters to Santa for the first time this year, and they were so sweet!

Spoiler Alert: Santa will not be bringing Lucy real makeup. #meanSanta

All sealed up and ready to go!

Friday evening we went to the special mailing spot in town that has a direct mail route to the North Pole!

They were so excited to mail their letters . . . here’s hoping they’re on the Nice List!

After we mailed the letters we drove around and looked at lights, including a super impressive house that does its lights to music on a radio station. It was a festive little evening!

No Santa post would be complete without a trip down memory lane. So, here you go, the Kissel girls with Santa over the years!

2019

We got to see Santa and Mrs. Claus at Epcot!! If this was the last time the girls ever got to visit with Santa in a “normal” way, at least they went out with a bang. Gosh, look how snuggly they all are . . . who would have thought that three short months from then we’d be in quarantine!

We also stopped by the clubhouse to see Santa last year.

Emily’s first Christmas!

Classic!

2016 . . . another classic!

2015 . . . Lucy’s First Christmas!!

Oh my gosh, I need to have more babies. Just kidding . . . kind of! Trips down memory lane get me every single time. And what should have been a 30 minute post took me an hour and a half because I kept getting distracted as I scrolled through old pictures!

Penelope gets spayed tomorrow, so I’ll be spending the week snuggling my sweet puppy. Wish her luck!

Have a great week 🙂

Classroom Before and After

Happy First Day of School! I’m coming up for a very quick breath of air to share my classroom before and after pics. I signed my contract at 3:30pm last Tuesday . . . that’s one week ago today. There was a lot of excitement and a lot of tears. In the blink of one […]

Mrs. Kissel: 2nd Grade Teacher!

Surprise! There are three Kissel ladies going back to school this year. Emily starts Kindergarten, Lucy’s in 2nd grade…and I’m coming out of retirement to teach second grade!!! (Not Lucy’s class!) I was hired Monday afternoon, and the amount of overwhelm and range of emotions I’ve felt since then has been, well, overwhelming! To those […]
