It’s Thursday, which means one week from today is Christmas Eve! Eeek!
We’ve been working lots of Christmas cheer into our days lately, and it’s been so fun!
Ready for school in super cute outfits!

Emily brought home this Christmas gift for us last week, and she wanted us to open it right away. It was the cutest homemade ornament where her fingerprints were turned into reindeer . . . and I somehow don’t have a picture of it! It’s currently hanging on our tree, but snapping a picture of it would require me to remove my blanket, laptop, and doggie from my lap. #notgonnahappen

We did a Target drive up order for this giant cardboard gingerbread house and some new markers, and they were both a great investment! The girls love playing in the house and already have a good portion of it colored.

Lucy’s class had letter “E” show and tell last week, and wouldn’t you know that when we woke up on Friday, Raspberry the Elf had put herself into a plastic container so that Lucy could take her to school for show and tell!

While we’ve been getting our daily dose of Christmas cheer, the deer behind our house have been feasting on the remnants of our Halloween cheer.

Raspberry brought all the fixings for hot chocolate and two tickets to view The Polar Express on Saturday. It was the perfect day for it because it poured all. morning. long.

That’s some festive hot cocoa! So this was our first time watching The Polar Express, and it turns out we aren’t fans. The train ride was pretty intense and unnecessarily long, and we just didn’t find it to be very uplifting or cheerful. Give us The Grinch any day of the week!

This is how Penelope (and the rest of us) looked for most of the day on Saturday.

We did get a short break in the rain and a bunch of people tried to get outside, but after a few minutes it started back up again. Good thing the girls packed their umbrellas!

Look who’s finally Christmas tree official!

We made our first batch of Christmas cookies on Sunday afternoon. Nothing says “Christmas Cookie Baking Outfit” like your Fourth of July halter dress! We made a batch of mint chocolate cookies, and they were delicious. We’ll be making a second batch for sure . . . because we ate all of the first ones! Are breakfast cookies a thing? Because they’ve become a thing at our house lately. #oops #tistheseason

We decided to let the girls pick out a sister gift for each other this year. I took Lucy one day and Emily the next. Lucy picked out this adorable pink sloth stuffy for Emily . . . and then went home and told Emily the exact stuffy that she hoped Emily picked out for HER! haha Of course, I forgot to take a picture, but Emily got exactly what Lucy asked for. I’m fairly certain this is officially the first annual Sister Stuffy Gift Exchange.

Penelope was looking cute while she waited for her appointment to be spayed on Tuesday.

She was gone all day and was totally out of it when Matty brought her home. She tried to lay down, but that back end wasn’t feeling it, and she ended up doing downward dog for quite some time.

The girls had dance via Zoom on Tuesday night and got to perform a little holiday dance for us.

The girls found this in their bathroom yesterday morning and thought it was hilarious.

Emily spent a lot of the day yesterday doting on Penelope. She even read her a lot of Christmas books.

Phew, we’ve been busy! I hope everyone is enjoying the holiday season as much as we are . . . it’s going to be over before we know it. This weekend we have big plans to do gingerbread houses with my parents and watch Arthur Christmas. We haven’t seen it before, but heard it’s much better than The Polar Express.
Have a great weekend!
XOXO
