And the gifts just keep on coming!
We had Christmas parts two and three on Monday and Tuesday of this week.
Sarah, Brian, Tommy, Eleanor, and Rita came over for the day on Monday. We had an appetizer lunch, opened gifts, and the kids played so nicely for seven hours straight!

Multiple Christmases got the best of Emmy, and she put herself down for a little mid afternoon siesta.

For dinner we had homemade lasagna . . .

. . .and homemade bread in the Dutch oven. SO delicious!

The aftermath of some hard core cousin play time.

Monday’s party ended around 6:30ish, and then we were cleaned up and ready to host our third and final installment at noon on Tuesday. I only took two pictures, but there was a taco bar, all the cookies again, and lots of gifts courtesy of Grandpa Gary and Grandma Karen . . . and Melissa and Doug. ๐

That party wrapped up around 3:00 and then we cleaned up and headed out to Rita’s for one last dinner with Sarah, Brian, and the kiddos before they went back to Illinois. We lived on the wild side and let the girls stay up til 8:45.
And then Penelope gave a very accurate description of how I was yesterday! Picture me sprawled out on the floor declaring that I was not cooking, cleaning, or doing anything remotely productive all day.

And now here we are on NEW YEARS EVE!! Is it just me, or does this NYE seem a bit more important than others? Dare I say this is the most anticipated NYE since Y2K?
We’ll be ringing in 2021 in true Kissel style: sweatpants, pizza, and board games. So, basically, we’re ringing in the new year the same we we spent much of the old year!
I have many thoughts/reflections on 2020, and they’ll all be up on Monday for my annual Year in Review post. I had actually planned on having that post up for today, but Matty started watching a movie called Ready or Not while I was trying to finish and it sucked me in. Blame him.
Happy New Year, everyone! We made it!
XOXO
