Happy Monday!
We had a perfect mix of chores/relaxation this weekend and certainly enjoyed the AMAZING weather!
Emily had her first day of preschool last Thursday, and she LOVED it. She was the first child to walk in, and it’s like we picked up a different child two and a half hours later. She got home and immediately asked Matty and I to sit down on the couch. She grabbed herself a handful of cucumbers, sat down on the chair across from us, and told us every last detail of what went down on her first day . . . twice. Maybe three times! She’s the total opposite of Lucy, and it was hilarious!
The girls made themselves a little nest on the living room floor . . . which was quickly taken over by Penelope!

Emmy and I stopped by At Home on Friday, and she loved this giant pumpkin.

Snack time with Daddy’s hat on.

Matty is pretty proud of his lawn! He’s been working hard to keep it green . . . and look at that striping! Friday evening was perfect. It was a little cool out, but perfect to have some drinks on the driveway. We have two girls who live across the street from us who are in middle school and high school. They love playing with the little kids, and have been setting up all of their old doll toys outside their house to play “family” with all of the little kiddos. It is the sweetest thing ever, and Matty and I enjoyed sitting out and watching everyone play Friday evening.

Friday night got pretty chilly, so we turned on the fireplace for the first time and enjoyed some cozy couch time.

The girls were playing in Lucy’s closet on Saturday morning. When I opened up the door to check on them, I laughed out loud when I saw Emmy. She said she was dressed to go to Virginia Beach!

The big news in our house is that Lucy needs glasses! I’ll do a post about it once she actually has them, but we went on Saturday to pick them out. Here’s a sneak peak!

After picking out her glasses, we walked around Downtown Plymouth for a bit to see the fountain . . .

. . . the flowers . . .

. . and to each lunch at Barrio! You guys, their appetizer trio is legendary! Homemade tortilla chips with homemade salsa, queso, and guacamole. The four of us devoured it, and I was so proud of the girls for enjoying it!

Emmy was in the shade and got a little chilly, so she came in for a cuddle.

And then we split this. The Barrio Burrito is nothing to sneeze at, which is why we had to split it . . . and then we skipped dinner!

Sunday morning started out with a trip to Costco before celebrating our neighbor, Sylvia’s, fourth birthday. This is just a portion of all the kiddos in our area of our street!

After playing at the birthday party for awhile, we had some friends over Sunday afternoon. We all sat on the driveway while our five girls played. Then next thing we knew it was 6:30, and time to get in for dinner, bath, and bed!

Behold . . . a picture of the greatest dog ever!

In between all of the fun stuff there was dog walking, grass cutting, and the DREADED changing over of the closets for the girls. Transition weather is the worst. Last week we were wearing jeans and sweatshirts, and this week we’ll need shorts and t-shirts!
I can’t even believe I’m typing this, but today has been designated a day for ME . . . on a Monday! I’m going to do some shopping and errand running while Matty hangs with Ems and handles school pick up for Lucy. It’s going to be a great way to start my week!
XOXO
