Happy Monday!
This weekend was supposed to be a combination of work and relaxation at the cottage . . . sans kiddos!
I arrived at the lake at 8pm on Friday evening. Matty, Brian, and I worked hard all day Saturday cleaning out the garage, basement, and kids toys at the cottage, and at 4pm my mom called to say that Lucy wasn’t feeling well and had a fever. #nooooo
Whether or not my mom could handle it was not the issue. In the times of Covid, I didn’t feel I should mess around with my parents watching the girls if there were fevers involved. Also, how was I supposed to relax and enjoy Saturday evening and Sunday knowing my baby girl was sick?! So, I packed back up and was on the road back home at 5:00 on Saturday. #21hourslater
It’s a good thing I came home because the girls and I had a doozy of a night! Lucy was miserable already, and Emmy woke up crying around 9:00pm and she had a fever, stuffy nose, and cough. By midnight it was clear that I couldn’t continue bouncing back and forth between the girls’ rooms, so I brought them both into our bed with me. It didn’t help much, and a loooong night ensued.
Despite a major lack of sleep, Lucy actually started doing much better around 9am on Sunday. Emily was a different story, though. The poor girl had a tough day, and there was a lot of snuggling.

Even though we think it’s just a common cold bug, we decided to play it safe and have the girls get a Covid test. We’re all hunkering at home for one to three days until we get their results.

Lucy continued to be happy (and a total sweetheart!) throughout the day, but Ems was feeling the effects of her fever and lack of sleep. #metoo

It’s currently 9:00 on Sunday evening, and both girls are sleeping soundly. Fingers crossed they stay that way because I am on my way to bed too!
Have a great week. Here’s hoping ours is Covid-free!
XOXO
