Happy Monday!
I was a single mama from 7:30am on Friday until 4pm on Sunday. That’s a lot of hours! This was my first time on my own in FOREVER (#quarantine), and my very first time with Penelope in the mix. The anticipation of the weekend ended up being worse than the weekend itself. The girls did great, and we all had a little fun!
You might be wondering where Matty was. He was gone for his third annual Cottage Golf Weekend. I was equal parts excited for him and jealous of him! Ok, maybe 40/60 if I’m being honest! 😉

Lucy handled Penelope on our Friday morning walk, and she looks like such a big girl these days! (Lucy, not Penny!)

We made a morning Costco run, and there’s no way we could resist these dog toys for Penelope.

We got home and the girls played while I put our purchases away and made lunch. My salad game has been pretty strong lately!

Penelope Pudding is such a cutie! I worked with her on some things this weekend, and she’s turning into such a good doggie!

We had a playdate scheduled for the dreaded 4-6pm portion of the day, and it was so nice to have that to look forward to! Lucy found a butterfly with a broken wing.

After the playdate we walked back home for a quick dinner before walking down to our neighbor’s for a puppy playdate! Our neighbor was golfing with Matty, so his wife and I got together with our kiddos and doggies both nights after dinner to let everyone play and get tired. It was glorious!

On our way home we stopped to watch some RC car races going on. . .

. . . and held Cow Cow the guinea pig.
Penelope was exhausted after the puppy playdate . . . oh, and she loves her Costco toys!

Saturday was another HOT day, and we explored the playground and some trails at Maybury State Park with my mom.

We came home and cooled down with some slip and slide time.

Then we had an afternoon movie, another puppy play date, and this was my view on the couch about 9:30pm!

I grabbed these overall from a garage sale, and I think I’ll have Emily wear them every day from here on out! Also, she’s getting a haircut in a few weeks, and I cannot wait!

My crew on our daily morning walk.

This was the sweetest thing ever! Emily’s obsessed with this rainbow garden book that Aunt Carla got her for her birthday, and she read it to Penelope this afternoon.

Matty got home around 4:00 yesterday, and all was right with our world again. Penelope isn’t old enough to go to the groomer yet, but we’re having some issues with her booty fur when she goes #2. Matty was ready to trim it yesterday evening!
(Carla, I’m sure you’re gagging and horrified right now!) haha

Phew! And by Sunday evening I was done! I set my expectations for the weekend VERY low, and it actually ended up going better than I anticipated.
We’ve got a pretty standard week ahead of us, along with another heat wave. T minus two weeks until school starts, so we’ll be making the best of it!
XOXO
