Happy TUESDAY! It feels weird to be blogging on a Monday afternoon, yet here I am! I’m feeling much better today and ready to tackle this weekend recap.
This wasn’t over the weekend, but last week Emmy Roses spent the night at Grandma Rita’s. The hope was to give the girls a little break from one another. The constant fighting, yelling, door slamming, hitting, hair pulling, crying, etc told us that since they’ve been together nonstop since March 13, maybe they needed some time apart.

I took exactly one picture of our one on one time with Lucy. She seemed to have a great time . . . when she wasn’t asking us when Emily was coming home! Seriously?!

Matty had to go to Ann Arbor on Thursday morning and made a special trip to Dom’s Bakery to pick up an apple fritter and some sour cream donuts. They are THE BEST DONUTS EVER! We shared some with our neighbors, and they also agreed!

This was my view Friday morning while I was walking off those donuts! My four mile route includes about a mile of this trail, and I love it.

Friday evening we hung out and had pizza with neighbors. Penelope got zero attention the whole night. π

Penny and Winston became fast friends and had a great time running around together. I’m used to Snort and Sydney who weren’t great with other dogs, so this was a refreshing experience for me!

Saturday afternoon was my dad’s 70th birthday party!! If you need professional looking signs for your next birthday event . . . . don’t call me!

The rain started before anyone could swim, so we had to move the party inside.

It rained for the entire time of my dad’s party, but stopped raining in time for us to celebrate my neighbor’s birthday Saturday evening. If you’re local, Karl’s Cabin is a great place to have a socially distanced meal!

Don’t worry, we wore our masks inside.

It rained most of the morning and afternoon on Sunday, which was actually really nice. I told Lucy she could choose her own outfit and do her own hair, and this is what she came up with! Please don’t mind the disaster behind her . . . I was in the middle of a major pantry overhaul.

Would I have preferred to have the entire pillow to myself at rest time? Yes! But Penelope is so cute and such a cuddler that I didn’t even mind!

Our neighbor across the street got a guinea pig for his birthday, and Lucy was so happy to get to hold it this weekend.

What a busy weekend!
Tonight Penelope starts puppy training classes! Here’s hoping that we BOTH do well!
We were supposed to be in Cedar Point this Thursday through Sunday. That’s obviously not happening, but we are going to head to the cottage instead. I’m taking the rest of the week off and will be back next Monday to share all about our first trip to the lake with Penelope!
Hope you’re having a great week!
XOXO
Silly question but is Cedar Point still closed? I know that they haven’t reopened Valley Fair here in Minnesota and I can only say I am truly disappointed because I love going there for a day off of work and for Halloween!
Have fun at your cabin. π
Cedar Point is open, but limited days, limited capacity, and they require masks. Not the greatest way to spend three days with four little kiddos π Hereβs hoping we can resume our tradition next year.
