Happy Thursday!
It’s been a while since I’ve done a “Day in the Life” post, so I planned one for this week. Here’s what our day was like this past Monday. I’d say it was a fairly typical day.
The early bird gets the worm . . . and a workout! I was up and at it bright and early.

I threw on my workout clothes and then fed this furball and let her out.

Penelope went back in her crate to snooze some more, and I went down to do a fifteen minutes pilates workout . . .

. . . before meeting my neighbor at 6:45 for our three mile walk. She wasn’t feeling the early morning selfie, so here I am after we finished.

I made Matty’s coffee and then went upstairs to shower.

By the time I was out of the shower, these two were awake and ready for their morning walk. Penelope made it 2.5 miles!

And this cutie woke up and found her way downstairs too!

Emily got herself a muffin from the freezer, and microwaved it all by herself.

We chatted while she ate breakfast and I emptied the dishwasher, and then she got busy decorating her pencil box with stickers.

Lucy is our late sleeper, and she eventually made her way down and got herself a muffin as well.

And I finally got myself some breakfast!

The girls played while I cleaned up, and then we went upstairs to get them dressed and brush teeth.

Around 10:00am, Matty took the girls on an adventure while I went to the grocery.

He took them to the Michigan War Dog Memorial Cemetery. It’s very close to our house, and we pass it all the time. Lucy is always asking to go and see it, so Matty decided to take them. He said it was very interesting and that the girls could have explored all day.

We all got home around the same time. I unloaded the groceries and put them away, and then we had a leisurely lunch out on the deck. The weather was perfect, and we could have sat out there all afternoon.

After lunch Matty (and Penny!) worked . . .

. . .the girls played in the backyard . . .

. . . and I made brownies!

While the brownies baked I put the girls in their rooms for rest time and took Penelope for a midday walk. Apparently her long morning walk was all she needed!

I went to ask Lucy something during rest time and found her like this with Nemo. So cute!

She picked out a new mask and was happy to try it on.

Emmy got one too! They are adjustable, which is great, because Lucy’s is clearly too big!

My parents came over around 3:00, and my dad got some quality Penelope snuggles . . .

. . . while the girls visited Oma’s Nail Salon.

We ordered pizza from the South Lyon Hotel for dinner, and it was delicious!

Pizza and a Miller Lite . . . it doesn’t get much better than that!

My parents stayed to give the girls their baths and put them to bed while Matty and I took Penelope to her 7:00 puppy training class.

This is Reese, and she and Penelope were besties! They played so well together, and it was the cutest!

Here’s Penelope running through a tunnel.

We got home around 8:30, my parents left, we showered, and then took to the couch for an episode of Dexter. Penelope was in my spot, as usual, so I had to move her over.

On our way up to bed we checked in on our little ladies.

I’m fairly certain this is NOT how my mom put her to bed! How do kids do this?!

Penelope was exhausted after puppy school and passed out in her crate as soon as we put her in.

I crawled into bed to read a few pages of my book . . .

. . . before calling it a night at 11:00pm. And then I woke up the next morning and did it all over again!

Sometimes it feels a little like Groundhog Day around here, but for the most part our days go by quickly. I’m excited to change things up a bit tonight with a dinner out with some of my mama friends!
We’re going to enjoy a nice outdoor meal on a gorgeous night. We’re going to Karl’s Cabin, and they have a great picnic table area outside. I can’t wait!

Have a great weekend!!
XOXO
