This past weekend was supposed to be our annual family trip to Cedar Point. That obviously didn’t happen, but since everyone already had the time off we decided to head to the cottage instead.
I actually didn’t take very many pictures, but the ones I do have are mostly of Penelope! She did a great job on her fist trip to the cottage.
Honestly, though, we didn’t really do a whole ton that required photographing. It’s been five long years, but this was the first trip where all four kiddos were able to play together without constant adult supervision/intervention. On our first full day if we weren’t on the boat then the kiddos were playing out in the front yard with little shovels, pails, dirt, and grass . . . for HOURS! It was wonderful!
Just before we left for the cottage on Wednesday, the girls and I took Penelope down to our friends’ house to play with their dog Winston. They ran around and played and Penelope was nice and tired for the two hour drive!
I walked around part of the lake while listening to my audiobook on Thursday morning, and it was glorious!
Penelope is a water pup! She did a great job swimming around in the shallow end.
Swimming is tiring for a tiny puppy!
Uncle Brian made blueberry pancakes one morning.
Speaking of Uncle Brian . . . he also did this!
Matty took a solo boat ride with Penelope and seemed to enjoy having a new, furry first mate!
We did some tubing . . .
. . .and some screaming. Emily was fine, she just “didn’t want you to take a picture, mama, I just want to go back to the cottage and eat my chocolate chips!” Same, sister, same!
These girls sure do love their puppy!
Napping buddies for life.
Penelope spent some quality time with Aunt Sarah on a sunset booze cruise.
Matty and Lucy battled a windy day and kayaked around the island. . .
. . . while his furry first mate waited patiently in the captain’s chair.
Matty had a Euchre buddy one night, which reminded me of this picture of him and Sydney circa 2013!!
It was a great little trip!
The girls FINALLY have their well visits this week, so we’ll be making a visit to the doctor on Wednesday. Emily has to get shots, Lucy does not. That should go over well!
Have a great week!
