Happy Monday!
Before we get to the cute pictures, I thought I’d share three memes I saw this weekend that made me LOL.
This first one is spot on (ok, they all are, but especially this one!). I’ve got so many group texts going with different groups of friends, and everyone is trying to decide what the H-E-L-L is the “best” choice for our kiddos in the fall. I’ve been fairly quiet about my thoughts on things here on the blog, and maybe I’ll share them someday. But for now, this definitely sums up life lately!

And because of ALLLL THE FEELINGS I’m having lately, this one resonated with me as well!

Honestly, it’s a toss up between a week of sleep and a week where I don’t have to make any decisions. Really, though, they go hand in hand. Thinking is TIRING, am I right?!
Our days have had their ups and downs lately, and this one made me laugh.

Ok, now on to our weekend! It was another HOT and humid one. We spent most of Saturday at my parents’ pool and then on Sunday we went to our sub pool around lunch time and then the girls played in our neighbor’s blow up water park in the evening. If there was water, we were trying to find a way to be in it!
My pictures don’t really focus on any of that, though. It should come as no surprise that my Penelope pictures are still going strong!
Emily made a path to Penny’s food bowl “so that she can find her way to her kibbles!” But Emmy used all the kibble, so once Penny made her way to her bowl it was empty! ๐

Riding down to introduce Penelope to Oma and Papa!

Oma approves! Oma doesn’t “love” dogs, but all dogs love Oma! I think it helped that she bought Penelope a toy.

And this is how our little puppy spent the afternoon while we swam.

Until she decided to parade around with her water bowl!

On our way home, we stopped by Aunt Judie’s house so she could meet Penelope.

Aunt Judie has an amazing backyard and patio area which we enjoyed for most of our visit, but the girls LOVED her cozy basement. It really is the perfect place for a movie night!

I’ve been walking with a few of my neighbors several times a week. Yesterday the girls woke up before I got home, and Matty snapped a pic of their easy Sunday morning.

This is Maverick, but we call him Fluffy Puppy. He is awesome, and he introduced himself to Penelope yesterday. #bigdogsmalldog

If this picture doesn’t scream, “Napping Soulmates,” then I don’t know what does!

And then before I knew it, it was Sunday night, I was beyond tired, and the girls would not go to sleep. They joined forces against us!
I know some people might roll their eyes at this, especially if you’ve never been a dog owner. I’ve had two newborns and now I have a puppy, and I can honestly say that a puppy has rocked my world almost as much as a newborn! She doesn’t sleep through the night, she has to be watched constantly, and I have to be mindful of her nap/exercise schedule. No, there’s not the sleepless nights, breastfeeding or crying, but there is house breaking, chewing, and constant supervision.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s totally worth it, but it’s taking me a few weeks to reacquaint myself with getting up in the middle of the night and then early in the morning. . . and then spending the whole day with the girls. I have been TIRED, and I might give myself a break for the rest of the week and take blogging off the table.
Have a great week!! (Can you believe it’s the LAST week of July?! Time needs to slow down!)
