Happy Monday!
I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend. Ours was very low key, which was nice.
Matty road his bike to the donut shop in town and grabbed the girls some patriotic donuts for breakfast. I was pretty proud of my breakfast board!

We spent a good part of the morning at our neighborhood pool. It just opened up last week, and Matty took the girls for the first time on Thursday. Emmy did so many jumps and plugged her nose so hard that she has a few boo boos on her nose! haha

We swam until lunch and then just relaxed inside until after dinner because we knew the girls would be up late. After dinner we got dressed and went across the street to our neighbor’s house.

There was popsicles . . .

. . . and corn hole . . .

. . . and lots of friends and neighbors!

The girls got to do sparklers for the first time, and they seemed to like them.

This is just a small sampling of allll the people who were sitting out in our street for the fireworks. Our neighbor put on a fantastic display that lasted almost 30 minutes . . . and I have zero pictures because I was holding Emmy on my lap and she wouldn’t stop talking! haha She seemed to really enjoy the fireworks. Lucy had some tears at first and said she didn’t like them, but we think she was just way too tired. The Kissel girls are used to a firm 8pm bedtime!

The cleanup afterward. Lucy is in that group with her headlamp flashlight on and push broom. What a good helper!

Oh look, there’s the double batch of brownies that I made to pass out before the fireworks . . . and totally forgot to take! haha They were still too warm to cut when the gathering started so I left them to cool and figured I’d go grab them later, and then never gave them a second thought. #mombrain

The girls were bathed and in bed by a little after 11. Emily slept until 9:30 yesterday morning, and we finally decided to wake Lucy up at 11am! It was glorious!
Our only goal this week is to find ways to stay cool! Our pool is only open on Tuesday and Thursday during the week, so we’ll have to settle for sprinklers and kiddie pools. This heat wave is never ending!
Have a great week!
XOXO
