Happy Monday!
Keeping it fairly short today for a few reasons: 1. We had an uneventful/relaxing weekend that required few pictures. 2. We brought home a boat from our cottage to sell. We listed it Sunday evening and immediately got inundated with messages. I was manning the computer responding to people all night. #firstworldproblems
Our neighbors have two girls who are a little older than Lucy and Emily. They passed down two of their old bikes to the girls, and we are so excited! One was orange and the other is pink. Lucy picked the orange one because it’s the same color as Nemo! The pink one is still too big for Emily, but we’ll happily put it in the basement for a year or two until she’s ready.

Here’s another example of neighborly kindness: some people down the street rented an ice cream cart to celebrate their son’s 12th birthday and invited our whole circle (and anyone else who happened to be passing by) to enjoy free ice cream! After we finished our delicious Oreo ice cream bars, they brought out their dog, Rio. She is one of the girls’ favorite neighborhood pups, and they got to have her do tricks and give her treats.

I took the girls for some pool time at my parents’ house on Friday where they enjoyed more ice cream!

Lucy’s favorite activity is to go into my parents’ winter gear bin and put on all the things. I have no clue what’s on her head . . . is that even a hat?!

Matt washed the boat before taking pictures of it on Saturday, and Emmy was so eager to help. She is such a sweetheart!

Matty let the girls sit in the boat while he backed it out of the driveway to reposition it. They thought they were the coolest!

And that’s it! Sunday we hung outside and played with neighbors alllll day long, and the girls crashed hard and crashed early!
In other news, tomorrow is our 14th anniversary!!! Look at those BABIES! We were 23 and 24 when we got married, which seems like a lifetime ago!
Matty has meetings during the day tomorrow and then golf league in the evening, so we’re celebrating big today. And by “big” I mean taking the girls out to lunch at the South Lyon Hotel. It’s one of our favorite places to go as a family, and the girls are SO EXCITED to finally go back since it reopened.
It’s been an amazing fourteen years, and we’ve been blessed to have so much more laughter than tears. I say this every year (and Matty always disagrees), but marriage is hard work! It takes a lot of nurturing, attention, and compromise . . . but all of those things are pretty easy for me because I get to do it for this handsome fella! How lucky am I?!

If you want to take a trip down our marriage memory lane, here’s a huge post I did in honor of our ten year anniversary. Soooo much has changed since then, but it’s still a fun read!
Have a great week . . . stay cool!
XOXO
