“Weekend” is a relative term these days. Basically, here’s what we’ve been up to since last I blogged! ๐
I hope that where ever you are, your weekend weather was as beautiful as ours. We lived outside all weekend, and someone even got her first (and hopefully only) sunburn of the season. Spoiler alert: it was me!
Good weather makes SUCH a difference in the mood of our household, which made for a pretty good weekend!
We made some zucchini bread last week, and it was delicious! No matter how many times I keep telling them there’s no bananas in it, the girls keep calling it banana bread.

Lucy had a Zoom call with her preschool class, and she got to bring her two favorite books to share with her classmates. She enjoys the sharing part, but definitely gets antsy while sitting there listening to everyone else share.

I took the girls with me to do a Kohl’s curbside pick up, and Ems fell asleep on the drive home. Carseat naps are the cutest!

Wednesday was a tough day for me, and Thursday morning didn’t start out much better. Thankfully, this craft that my friend Teresa suggested kept everyone happy and busy for about 45 minutes!

Thursday evening I did a Zoom call with my mama friends, and it was so good for me! I can’t wait until we can get together in person again. Matty snapped a picture of my cozy set up.

Friday was the first of a string of beautiful days. I decided that enough was enough, and I set up our first socially distant visit with my parents . . . in the Ikea parking lot. We got there a few minutes early and were so excited to see Oma and Papa!

My parents brought Emily’s birthday present and Easter baskets for the girls. We visited and let the girls eat some candy from their baskets and run around the empty parking lot.

While playing on the driveway on Friday afternoon, the girls found a snake. They were obsessed with it; I was horrified.

After lunch on Friday I put together Emmy’s birthday gift from my parents: a unicorn water table! The girls played with it on the deck for much of the afternoon.

I don’t have a single picture from Saturday. It was a gorgeous day, and we spent the majority of it fixing some landscaping and spreading 22 bags of mulch in the front yard. That is no easy task with two little girlies on the loose, but Matty and I are a good team and we got it done. . . and I’ve got the sunburn to prove it!
I spent a few hours Sunday morning working in the basement on Lucy’s dollhouse. Matty took the girls outside to play for the entire time, and it looks like they all had fun!

After lunch we made the girls’ day by opening up a new “slippy slide” as they called it. I bought this thing for $7.50 at Target last October, and it’s been taunting them on the shelf in our mudroom ever since. They were so excited to play in it, cold water and all!

And then, right in the middle of our grass, we found the World’s Biggest Worm. Of course, Lucy snatched it right up and was obsessed with taking care of it and making it a house. Her name is Wormina, and she was seriously the size of the snake we had on our driveway the other day! #gross

Our weekend was the perfect combination of productive and relaxing. This week we have a dentist appointment and two doctor appointments on the calendar . . . all cancelled.
Have a great week!
XOXO
P.S. Check back tomorrow for a yummy recipe!
