Happy Monday, friends!
I hope everyone had an enjoyable Mother’s Day . . .whatever it may have looked like for you. The weather wasn’t the greatest for us, but we still made the best of it.
My Mother’s Day actually started on Thursday. I asked for a new pair of aviator sunglasses, and Matty gave them to me as soon as they arrived on Thursday in case I didn’t like them and he needed to get me something else. Spoiler alert: I loved them!

On Saturday morning I met my mom and Rita at the Ikea parking lot to give them their Mother’s Day presents and chat from a socially acceptable distance. It was 37 degrees and windy, which sucked, but it was so nice to get to see them and chat for a bit!

While I was visiting with the moms, Matty was holding down the fort at home. They played outside and then spent some time making Mother’s Day cards.

The girls were so excited about the cards they’d made that they wanted to give them to me right away when I got home on Saturday. Are you sensing a theme about our family’s inability to wait to give presents?! haha
The cards were ADORABLE!

The girls spent a good chunk of Saturday afternoon playing with each other and ignoring Matty and me, which was kind of nice! At one point I looked up from reading and saw this happening!

I had planned to watch one of my shows on my laptop while the girls watched a show before bed, but they were dead set on cuddling with mama. Who am I to say no?!

Mother’s Day morning was so nice. I slept in (til 7:15!) and then took my time showering and getting ready for the day. We had breakfast and then decided to get out for our walk sooner rather than later because rain was on the way. I made sure we got a Mother’s Day photo before our walk.

We took a nice long walk that involved rolling down a hill several times, and then we got home just as rain drops started to fall.

I played with the girls while Matty ran to the grocery to get a few things for lunch and dinner. He brought back this delightful little treat for me. I’m fairly certain these babies will be finding their way onto my s’mores at the cottage this summer!

Lucy used a piece of cardboard to make her own TV and then brought in their chairs to make a living room. She asked me to write “Disney Channel” on her TV and then sat there for awhile pretending to watch. This cracked me up because she was in such close proximity to our actual TV but never even asked for me to turn it on!

We ate lunch and then I snuggled down on the couch while Matty cleaned up. I could get used to that!

We had some family rest time, and then the girls and I made the easiest double chocolate banana muffins (stay tuned for the recipe!). Emily thoroughly enjoyed hers after dinner!

What a great weekend! Matty and the girls sure did make me feel special.
It’s back to business as usual this week. The weather looks like it’s finally going to start shaping up a bit, so we’re going to plant some flowers on Wednesday. And then on Friday my Lucy Belle is turning FIVE! I’ll wait to lament about that until later in the week, though.
Have another great week of quarantine!
XOXO
