Weekend Recap

April 27, 2020 by Molly Leave a Comment

For those of you that may be unaware, today is Monday. 🙂

We had a pretty good weekend here at the Kissel house. Another weekend of indulging in good food, enjoying the sun, and watching Matty receive compliments on his lawn from everyone that walks by.

I put it off as long as he’d let me, but I finally had to cut Matty’s hair Thursday evening. It took me about 40 minutes, but I think I did a pretty good job!

The girls are rarely in the basement, but when they are down there they love working with Matty’s tools.

We picked up Buddy’s pizza and salad for dinner Friday night, and we were all so excited to go for a drive to get it. Apparently everyone had the same idea because when we pulled in there were thirty cars in line for curbside pick up!

This made me laugh and is also very accurate.

Speaking of chocolate chip cookies, we thawed out one of those giant Double Tree Hotel ones that I made and split it after lunch. Lucy had chocolate everywhere!

I took the girls for an extra long walk on Saturday evening, and we discovered a new place by the pond in our neighborhood where they can run and run and run some more.

I had the stroller, but they walked most of the way home. Gotta get those steps in!

The girls had a blast digging in the woods in our backyard . . .

. . . and I had a blast sitting up on the deck and reading my book while they played!

Lucy found a worm and fed it part of her pretzel. I missed it for the picture, but at one point the worm actually was holding onto the pretzel. Weird.

Another long walk on Sunday evening. They give the best smiles when I promise M&Ms!

The weather was so nice this weekend that I put off the vacuuming and dusting that needed to get done, so that’s on the agenda for early this week. I also want to attempt to make chocolate chip cookies using MY recipe but making them as large as the Double Tree cookies. Oh, and I really need to try to carve out some time to work on my class, but I’ve been saying that for weeks so we’ll see how that goes.

Have a great week six of quarantine!

XOXO

Classroom Before and After

Happy First Day of School! I’m coming up for a very quick breath of air to share my classroom before and after pics. I signed my contract at 3:30pm last Tuesday . . . that’s one week ago today. There was a lot of excitement and a lot of tears. In the blink of one […]

Mrs. Kissel: 2nd Grade Teacher!

Surprise! There are three Kissel ladies going back to school this year. Emily starts Kindergarten, Lucy’s in 2nd grade…and I’m coming out of retirement to teach second grade!!! (Not Lucy’s class!) I was hired Monday afternoon, and the amount of overwhelm and range of emotions I’ve felt since then has been, well, overwhelming! To those […]
