Happy Monday, friends!
I’ve gotta be honest: quarantine life has not been too bad lately! The weather has been AMAZING, and being able to spend our days outside has made a huge difference. Obviously, we miss our family and friends in a big way, but other than that we’re actually doing pretty well over here. For now.
Lucy struggles a bit with recognizing lower case letters, so I made this activity for her. I try to have her do it at least once a day, and she’s definitely getting better!

This is how we’ve been spending our days. Car laps, bike laps, scooter laps . . . all day every day! When Matty has a break from working, he’ll join us on his bike. I always power walk behind them, and the other day I got 17,000 steps just from all the cruising around the neighborhood we did!

When Emmy first got behind the wheel of her car it was quite nerve wracking watching her drive, but she’s gotten SO much better in the past few days. Watching her throw that thing into reverse and back it out of the garage is hilarious!

I cleaned out my car the other day, and the girls had a great time playing in the back while I worked on the front. When it was time for me to put up the back seats again and clean, they rode their bikes up and down the street. It’s a weird feeling to be productive outside while not having to watch them every single second. We have been VERY strict on boundaries and expectations, and it’s starting to pay off!

We’ve been Face Timing with friends on our laptops while playing Euchre with them on the Trickster Card app, and it’s been pretty fun! We did it with the Crupis last Thursday and their dog, Sunny, snuck in for some snacks.

We were making dinner the other night (frittatas, bacon, and hash browns!) and the girls kept wanting to help me chop things. It started to slow me down way too much, so I gave them each a slice of bread and their own butter knife to practice cutting. It worked like a charm, and I was so proud of myself! Also, as soon as I took this picture I realized that Emmy had her knife upside down so I corrected her.

I get the same look on my face when I get a roll with butter on it!

It kept raining on and off the other afternoon while we were doing things outside. Lucy had a great time trying to walk around in my rain boots.

And of course Ems wanted a turn too. She couldn’t even walk though because her little legs basically disappeared!

Another Euchre night with the Heinbuchs and their dog Bogey!

A trip to the grocery was unavoidable, and Matty volunteered as tribute. He wore a mask and said almost everyone at Costco had one on too.

I was doing some meal planning, and the girls said they wanted to plan meals too. My mama heart was happy!

Emmy made Cookie Soup complete with tons of cookies and some carrots and corn on the cob underneath! According to her, she wore gloves so the Coronavirus wouldn’t get in the soup. Funny but sad all at the same time.

Our sub asked us to put bears in windows or on our porches yesterday so that everyone could go on a bear hunt while they were out for their walks. It was a beautiful day, and it was so cute to see families walking around everywhere counting the bears. Here was our contribution!

And then later on in the afternoon yesterday we were outside playing and saw the Easter Bunny drive by!

Lucy ended the weekend by taking her “horse” for a walk.

It really was a great weekend!
Matty’s on his first (and hopefully ONLY!) week of furlough, so he’ll be around all day every day this week. We’re going to switch places and I’m going to take an hour or so every day to go upstairs and get some school work done. If I really buckle down, I might be able to finish up my class by the end of the week. Here’s hoping!
XOXO
