Happy Thursday!
There’s nothing new to report, really. We’re living our best quarantine lives here at the Kissel house. Our string of several great days in a row came to an end yesterday. The weather kept us inside most of the day, and I could tell the girls were getting on each other’s nerves . . . which was getting on my nerves.
You know what came to our rescue?
NOGGIN. It’s an app made by Nick Jr. and has all of the characters from their shows: Paw Patrol, Shimmer and Shine, and Bubble Guppies, to name a few. You can watch full length episodes of their shows, but there’s also an educational games section, and an e-books section. The weather yesterday called for a little more screen time than usual, and the girls both had a blast playing the games on Noggin. I signed up for the 60 day free trial, and we’ll definitely get our use out of it! (As I read that back, it definitely sounded like an ad! ha! This is not sponsored in any way shape or form, although it should be because I’ve told so many people about Noggin this week!)
We had family movie afternoon last week and watched Moana. Emmy usually lasts about 15 minutes or so in her sleeping bag before making her way to me.

This was last Wednesday, back when we were wearing SHORTS and sunscreen. Lucy made this adorable rainbow out of hearts.

The girls have been having fun setting up a pet nursery on the landing of our stairs. I was responsible for rocking stuffies to sleep at nap time. I personally rocked all of these guys to sleep. I’m glad to see I haven’t lost my touch!

Are quarantine gifts a thing in other people’s houses? All the grandparents have been sending toys and games to the girls to keep them occupied. (Funny, my gifts must be held up in the mail. KIDDING! I’M KIDDING!) These flowers arrived from Grandma Rita the other day, and they have been a big hit so far.
Here’s Matty Boy, getting the job done in his new home office!

The girls each got a slinky in their Easter baskets. Two days after Easter I spent about 30 minutes trying (mostly successfully) to untangle Lucy’s. At least I got to watch a show while I did it.

The bad news is that the girls brought down every single pillow and every single stuffy to make a fort the other day. The good news is that they happily worked on it together for over an hour! The other bad news is that getting them to help clean it up is not nearly as much fun as they had creating it. WHY?! It’s just as much fun . . . but in reverse! They had so much fun running the stuffies DOWN the stairs, but HEAVEN FORBID we ask them to run the stuffies back UP the stairs. Meltdown city, people.

Here they are with the flowers again. They opted to play with them while I baked banana bread rather than help me make the bread. Quite surprising!

These nuts were playing quietly in the other room while I cleaned up lunch the other day and then ran in to show me how they’d switched clothes and sunnies with each other! They thought it was hilarious! I asked if they’d switched underwear too. Thankfully the answer was no. ๐

Lucy had a Zoom meeting with her preschool class yesterday morning, and it was just the sweetest thing.

Banana bread and milk makes the perfect afternoon snack!

And that brings us to today.
Gosh, does anyone else have ideas of other things I could blog about?? I think quarantine life posts are going to get old!
We are currently at nine days since our last grocery trip. We’re about out of fresh fruits and veggies, but we have plenty of frozen meat and other random stuff. Will we make it through the weekend without going? I predict no, but, boy, will it be exciting to see if we can!
Have a great weekend!
