Can you believe it’s the last Wednesday of the month already? Let’s see if we can find something to talk about other than the Coronavirus, shall we?
What We’re Eating
This one’s just laughable. I mean, a better question would be what AREN’T we eating?!
We waited in a super long line one night to pick up our pizza from the drive through window, we ate a big tray of Costco fish sticks for lunch one day (delicious!), we did grill some healthy chicken and veggies one night . . . and then baked cookies the next day!
And there’s been bags of Sun Chips, and tacos in tortillas instead of rice bowls. It’s embarrassing just to type it all out! haha
What I’m Reminiscing About
Back when we were able to go out and do things and see people . . . you know, two weeks ago!

Just imagine if they tried to grab those bars this week! Ugh!

No more leaning on shopping carts!

What I’m Loving
Having Matty home all day! Yes, it’s a challenge to keep the girls quiet sometimes while he’s working, but it’s also super awesome to have him join us on our mornings bike rides . . . and our afternoon ones . . .and our post dinner ones. He brought an old lazy boy up into our bedroom and is loving his work space!

What We’ve Been Up To
Snacks and Scholastic Stories . . . clothing optional!

Neighborhood scavenger hunts.

Playing in the snow.

Painting on foil.

Batting practice! I still haven’t figured out how to post videos here, but if you have access to my Facebook or Instagram pages, PLEASE go check out the two videos I posted of the girls batting for the first time. They are priceless!

What I’m Dreading
Having to celebrate Emmy’s birthday and possibly Easter without our families!
Oh, and putting on regular pants again when this is all over!
What I’m Working On
Trying to be a patient, happy mama . . . allllll day long.
What I’m Excited About
Getting to see family and friends again . . . sometime soon, I hope!
What I’m Watching/Reading
We are having a hard time finding a new show to watch . . . just when we REALLY need one, right?!
We’ve been watching old comedies on HBO like Bridesmaids and Spy. Apparently we’ve been in the mood for some Melissa McCarthy!
I’m having trouble getting the pictures to load from Amazon, but I read Becoming by Michelle Obama and enjoyed it. It wasn’t quite as salacious and gossipy as I would have liked, but still a very interesting read. The world of politics stressed me out and made my heart race . . . and I was only reading about it instead of living it!
I also read The Girl Before and enjoyed it . . . until the end. Ugh! It’s so tough to write a satisfying ending. The book is about a very unique house and the tenants, past and present, who have lived there. It’s told from two different points of view and really held my interest until about the last thirty pages or so.
I’m almost finished with Open Book by Jessica Simpson. Apparently, I was in the mood for memoirs this month and this one is much more my speed. It’s an easy read, and she covers so much more than just her music career and Newlyweds. I almost feel guilty enjoying Newlyweds as much as I did because it turns out she was miserable! She doesn’t hold back on the unflattering aspects of herself and her relationships with others. Shame on you, John Mayer!
What I’m Doing This Weekend
We actually had three very exciting events on the calendar this weekend, and all of them are cancelled. The MOST disappointing is Emily’s third birthday party! Insert the crying face emoji here.
Our sweet little goofball turns THREE next Tuesday! She requested a rainbow birthday party, and we will do our best to make her day super special here at home.

The weather is looking pretty great today, so I’m going to surprise the girls with a bubble machine I grabbed from Target. Hopefully they’ll enjoy spending some time outside doing something other than riding bikes!
Have a great weekend!
XOXO
What beautiful photos! It’s nuts to think how much has changed in so little time.
I’m late in catching up with my WUW reading.
We had to celebrate my son’s 11th birthday in quarantine and it just wasn’t the same. Hopefully we can have an in-person party for him when this ends. And I’m also hoping we won’t have to celebrate my daughter’s 9th birthday in quarantine as well. It’s in mid-June…
Ugh, I know what you mean…my oldest daughters birthday is May 15 and it’s not looking promising. 🙁
