Is this not the longest week of your life?
No?
Maybe it’s just the longest one of mine!
It’s been a doozy of a week here at the Kissel house. The girls have gone crazy, and someone seems to have stolen my patience. Like all of it. Gone.
Am I the only one whose pendulum swings violently back and forth between, “Oh, they’re still little they’ll learn to be compassionate/empathetic/good listeners eventually” and “OH MY GOSH, WHY DO YOU HAVE NO SOUL??!!”
I think/hope that Tuesday was our rock bottom and that things can only get better.
We. Shall. See.
Anyway, as always, there’s been some cuteness woven in along with the crazy.
Lucy’s Valentine’s Day party was on Monday because she’s now on winter break until next Wednesday. I signed up to help in her class that day, and brought Emmy along with me. The girls were so excited to go to school together! Lucy put Emmy to work passing out valentines before Ems had even hung up her coat!

Two sisters at circle time!

Lucy’s teacher read a story and then asked a question about the book. When Emmy saw the kids raising their hands, she immediately popped hers right up into the air and then kind of stared at it.

She was so happy to be included in snack time!

During free choice time, I was overseeing a game with rotating groups of kiddos while Emmy made herself right at home. She painted with one of the teachers for a bit . . .

. . . and then spent about half an hour at the bowling station!

My friend Kelly said she was having a blast!

Lucy was so happy to show me her favorite stuffy at school!

This is the only picture I have from Tuesday. No one was happy on Tuesday.

We did a Target run on Wednesday, and both girls were looking so cute in their sunglasses. I asked for a picture, and on the count of three they both leaned out of the frame on purpose. ugh.

I wanted to try on a few swimsuits, and figured I had a better chance of keeping the girls occupied if I let them choose one to try on too. I know, I know . . . as if my week hadn’t been crappy enough already I decide to try swimsuits on in the middle of February! Apparently, I’m a glutton for punishment.
I only buy two piece swimsuits for the girls because getting a wet one piece down to go potty is IMPOSSIBLE. We didn’t end up getting either of these because they tried on one size and the tops were too small, then they tried on the next size up and the bottoms were too big. Welcome to the rest of your life, girlies!

It’s a rare occasion when I try to rest with the girls during their rest time. This is why.

Today we’re going for tea/lunch at the tea room Downtown Plymouth with my mom to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
Tomorrow I’m taking the girls swimming in Rita’s indoor pool at her clubhouse before coming home for heart shaped pizza and a little gift exchange with Matty and the girls. Here’s hoping my Valentines are all on their best behavior!

Have a great weekend!
XOXO
Oh! I almost forgot . . . I’ve seen a preview of the new blog, and it is CUTE! I still don’t have a launch date, but I’m so excited for everyone to see it!
