Happy Monday!
After 16 days together pretty much all day every day, Matty goes back to work today and the girls and I go back to our regular weekday routine.
Honestly? I’m not as sad about it as I thought I’d be. We had a lot more time at home than I had planned for, and the girls definitely need a break from one another! I’m hoping that Lucy going back to school will allow the girls a little solo time to do their own thing and get back to playing nicely together when they’re both home.
We shall see!
I did a major Target run on New Years Eve. We’re set on soap, toilet paper, and toiletries for most of 2020. The girls did a great job helping me put everything away, so they enjoyed some fruit snacks in the hallway as a reward.

We spent New Years Day playing in the snow . . .

. . . and putting away the last of the Christmas decorations. The girls gave the tree a big hug goodbye before Matty took it apart.

Last Thursday Matty and I had a delightful little day date out for lunch and shopping at Somerset. He took me to Steve’s Deli in Bloomfield Hills for lunch, and I had the best salad ever! We’ll definitely be going back.

We weren’t successful in the furniture we were shopping for, but I did get a new pair of glasses at the Warby Parker store, so I’m calling our day a win!

Matt’s Aunt Judie gave the girls a little money for Christmas. When they saw these giant unicorns on clearance at Kroger, they knew it was JUST the thing Aunt Judie would want them to use her money for! ๐

We took the girls bowling on Friday, and they had a blast. Emmy is the cutest little cheerleader and gets excited every time one of us has a turn. Lucy is great at helping Emmy arrange the kiddie ramp and roll the ball down it.

Everyone ended up with strikes, and they were so excited!

Lucy told me this was her “weasel” face.

Nothing else exciting to report from the end of our vacation. We wrapped it up last night watching some Vampirina before putting the girls to bed early.

Oh, wait! I do have one exciting thing to report! Santa brought Emmy some princess panties for Christmas, and this past Thursday she asked to put them on . . . and she hasn’t looked back! For the rest of the week/weekend she did AWESOME, and we are so proud of her! She’s only had two accidents (both at home), and we’ve been out and about running errands and she simply asks to use the restroom and goes without a problem! We are amazed at how quickly it happened. I cannot believe that we are now a crib free and a diaper free household! #babiesdontkeep
Have a great week!
