Merry Christmas Eve Eve!
Today I’m sharing some festive pictures from our weekend before taking the rest of the week off to enjoy CHRISTMAS with our family!
We went to Meijer for the first time in a long time, and the girls enjoyed a few rides on the penny pony.

Emmy had her Christmas party at school on Friday. (Poor Lucy was too sick to go to hers. Boo!) Ems was excited to wear pajamas to school!

I stopped by Lucy’s school to pick up her things from the party, and this is what they made us in class as a gift. Lucy had me open it immediately, and I’m so glad because it is quite possibly the most precious thing I own at the moment!

Emmy had a second massive nosebleed last week, so we kicked off Christmas vacation with a trip to the doctor Friday afternoon. The poor girl fell asleep in the car and was not happy about being woken up to go inside.

There was a gingerbread house competition in the waiting room, which was fun! Emmy chose to vote for #1.

As soon as they called Emmy’s name to go back, she started crying and basically didn’t stop until the doctor finished her exam. And THEN they decided to do a finger prick to draw some blood. The nurse and I were prepared for Ems to start screaming again, but she just sat there on my lap and didn’t make a peep! The sweet nurse rewarded her with a popsicle.

Oma and Papa came over for a Christmas visit on Saturday afternoon. The grownups all exchanged presents, and my parents brought each girl a little gift. The girls will open the rest of their gifts from my parents on Christmas Day, but doing the grown ups’ gifts earlier alleviates some of the craziness at my parents’ house! This is the look my mom got when she told the girls they had to wait until Matty got home to open their presents.

Matty got a headlamp to wear when the power goes out and he needs both hands to fire up the generator. It was a hit with everyone!

Pop got an extra special shirt! (Credit goes to Matty for finding it!)

After lunch my mom and the girls made a gingerbread house. Emily spent a lot of the time sneaking the candy!

The cutest little gingerbread house ever!

After a little bit of rest time, we spent Saturday evening baking cookies. I recently saw this on Instagram, and it made me laugh. So true!

Raspberry the Elf has had some cool surprises for her last few days.

Yesterday was a beautiful day, and we spent it playing with cousins.

Proof of Mom!

The girls have been hanging in there, but they really aren’t feeling that great. The fevers are gone for now, thank goodness, but their noses are running constantly and their coughing sounds so bad. Matty and I feel badly for them. Here’s hoping they’re on the mend soon!
Christmas Eve morning will be the last time Raspberry will make an appearance for the year. I wrote a little poem for her to leave for the girls, along with a little gift.

And that was our weekend!

Merry Christmas from the Kissel family!!!

Merry Christmas from our family to yours.
Best wishes for a magical Christmas season and a happy and healthy 2020!
Have a great week, everyone!
I’ll be back next Monday with all the pictures to document the craziness of Christmas with tiny children!
XOXO
