Happy Thursday!
Less than a week until Christmas . . . who’s excited?!
We were plugging right along with our celebrating, baking, and prepping this week, but things came to a screeching halt yesterday. Keep reading to find out why!
My friend Amber came over on Monday and brought the girls these scooters as a thank you gift for all the hand-me-downs I’ve been giving to her little girl. They’ve been cruising all over the house. The moral of this story . . . no more hand-me-downs for Amber! haha Just kidding!

We played hair salon the other day, and I asked the girls to get me ready for a fancy Christmas party. “Fancy” has many interpretations! We counted the bows as I took them out . . . there were 22 of them!

The girls are obsessed with coloring lately, so I decided to get creative and take their coloring experience to the next level. I am not much of an artist, but I was pretty darn proud of these giant coloring sheets I drew!

That Raspberry, she’s so clever!

Lucy has had a bit of a cough all week, but it really amped up Tuesday afternoon/evening. She woke up early yesterday morning barking rather than coughing and had a fever . . . so no school for her. I got Lucy hunkered down on the couch and Emily woke up screaming. I went in to her room and she was crying so hard and her face was COVERED in blood. I’ll spare you the picture. It was smeared everywhere and her brand new, week old bedding looked like a crime scene! She had a random bloody nose, and I could see it falling out and dropping onto her blanket as she cried. The poor girl! The good news is that it stopped fairly quickly, the girls both enjoyed a warm morning bath, and I eventually got all the bloodstains out of the bedding. Mama win!
So Lucy’s bark and my fear of Emmy’s nose possibly gushing at any moment kept us at home alllll day long. Lucy was too sick to go anywhere or help with any holiday baking, but wasn’t so sick that she just wanted to watch TV all day. It made for a loooong day.
The three of us spent about an hour putting together all kinds of puzzles.

The girls both have their Christmas parties at school on Friday, so I had them decorate the cards for their teachers into which I’ll put a Target gift card.

Lucy was focusing really hard but was coughing SO MUCH! I considered changing the message on the inside of the cards to, “Thanks so much for all you do. Here are some germs and a Target gift card to buy medicine. Merry Christmas!”

Lucy’s school posted some pictures of what they’ve been up to this month. Here’s Lucy making a wreath she brought home on Monday that I LOVE . . .

. . . and here she is playing a happy reindeer . . .

. . . and enjoying a special Santa snack!

I’m hoping that one more day of rest today will help Lucy get better. I’m also keeping my fingers and toes crossed that she doesn’t pass this terrible cough on to Emmy!
Our Christmas festivities officially kick off on Saturday, and we are READY to get our Christmas on!!
Have a great weekend!
XOXO
