Happy Monday!
Only five days left until Matty is off for SIXTEEN DAYS! Full disclosure: the girls were a bit challenging this weekend, and he might be regretting his choice right about now ๐
The Christmas season has been in full swing over here at the Kissel house for a few weeks now, and I have lots of pictures to share.
Big news at the Kissel house . . . we have no more cribs! #mixedfeelings
As soon as we got back from Florida, Emmy started asking for her big girl bed! Matty set it up last Sunday, and she has done amazingly well! She sleeps all night through, calls for us in the morning when she wakes up, and hasn’t gotten out once.
Here’s her room for now. It’s going to get painted after Christmas, and I’ll have to move her wall art around a bit, but it’s still so cozy!

Both girls were excited for Emmy’s first night in her big girl bed!

One morning I heard rustling on the monitor, and Ems was awake and had gotten some toys to play with in bed instead of calling for me. So cute!

Raspberry the elf has been doing lots of silly things around the house, and the girls’ reactions in the mornings are the sweetest! (A special shout out to Aunt Carla who found the elf band aids!)

When there is peace, it must be documented. A few minutes after I took this picture, Emmy pulled too hard on Lucy’s hair so Lucy grabbed the brush and threw it across the room which caused Emmy to dump out that entire box of shape pieces Lucy was playing with. I wish I was joking.

The girls and I did some Christmas shopping earlier in the week, and they were excited to see Olaf sitting in Santa’s seat at Kohl’s.

Matty had a Christmas party Tuesday night, so I bundled the girls up in the wagon and we walked over to our clubhouse to see Santa!

Here’s Lucy asking for her train table, karaoke machine, and watch.

Santa gave them candy canes afterward, and by the time we got home Emmy had fashioned hers into a shiv! This girl would be just fine in prison!

Lucy made the cutest house for her little critters. She was shirtless when she made it, thus the teddy bear sticker I put over her chest!

One of Matty’s Christmas presents arrived, and Lucy enjoyed trying it out. In case you were wondering, Matty basically had the same look on his face when he tried it on too!

We had our neighbors over for a play date on Wednesday afternoon to decorate brownies for Christmas. They ended up looking nothing like the pictures I saw on the internet, but they girlies had fun!

After our play date, I had a lot of leftover M&Ms that I needed to get out of the house so I wouldn’t eat them. I dumped them in the trash and then did this with the bag. The girls thought it was hilarious!

Emmy got to be line leader at school on Friday. She didn’t quite understand her job, though, and was the third or fourth person in line the entire walk to the playground!

Friday night movie night . . .

. . . followed by Saturday morning snuggles!

And Saturday afternoon snuggles for this little lady who was having meltdown after meltdown all day.

We had our neighborhood Christmas party on Saturday night where I took zero pictures!
Matty took the girls for a Dadurday adventure on Sunday. They got huge donuts and then did some Christmas shopping to buy a present for mommy!!

Again, peace must be documented. It is a rare occurrence these days.

I needed a moment on Sunday evening. That’s wine in my cup. Being four is hard. Being two is hard. Being a mom is hard!

And now we’re in the home stretch! I’m wrapped, I’ve got my menus planned, and I’m ready to enjoy this time leading up to Christmas.
Have a great week!
XOXO
