Happy Monday!
Not too much to report from the weekend; it ended up being pretty low key.
We woke up to a little bit of snow on the ground Thursday morning. The girls were excited! It didn’t last long, but more is on the way this week, which is why we put all the outdoor stuff away this weekend, dumped out the mums, and Matty cut the grass one last time and put winter tires on his car and winter floor mats in both of our cars. We don’t necessarily want snow, but we’re ready for it!
The girls have been super into building forts lately, and my mom built them this one. She may have surpassed Matty as Top Fort Builder.
My sweet girls eating breakfast on Friday morning.
I got together with some other mamas in Lucy’s class and hung out while the kiddos were at school. Emmy had a blast playing with other people’s toys!
Saturday was a weird day for me. We were supposed to go out to dinner with friends, but I just didn’t feel like doing anything so we cancelled. I felt like I was just kind of going through the motions to make it through the day, and Matty knew it and played on my fragile emotional state to make this happen . . .
Yep! Our Christmas tree is up! I’m as surprised as you are. The girls heard us mention it, and I just didn’t have the heart/energy to fight them on it. Don’t you just love the juxtaposition of the Christmas tree in front of my Thanksgiving mantle?? Also, I kept insisting that no one else has their tree up this early, but as we were driving through our neighborhood to pick up a pizza Saturday evening, we saw another tree all lit up in someone’s house!
Marshmallow the Bear joined us for a show before bedtime.
We had a momentous occasion on Sunday morning: Matty took both girls to the store with him for the FIRST TIME EVER! They did a Home Depot run that was supposed to end with a few Tim Bits, but apparently the girls saw those sprinkle donuts and there was no going back! He said everyone had a great time, so I’m thinking this could be a weekly tradition! ๐
Have a great week!
XOXO
