Happy Monday!
We had a busy, fun weekend. I really didn’t take many pictures (except for our professional ones!) so today is just a random assortment of things I’ve been wanting to share.
First, a quick look at some of our pictures.
Did we get some good ones?
Yes.
Will I share them?
Eventually.
Today you get a few of the not so great ones. Our photographer is awesome, and the location for this shoot was AMAZING, but we’re not miracle workers and sometimes those girls of ours just have minds of their own. Emmy randomly grabbed her Elsa doll as we were walking out the door, and we didn’t really think much of it. Turns out, she had it in her head that Elsa was going to be with her in the pictures and we had a heck of a time getting Ems to put that darn doll down! This is one where we finally got Emmy to agree to let Lucy have a turn with Elsa. I ended up swiping her from Lucy, but not before we got this gem of Lu cracking up her sister.
This was toward the end of the 45 minute shoot. Some bees started coming around which Lucy was NOT happy about. Butterflies were also around but we wouldn’t let Lucy chase them because the grassy areas were really muddy. Add that to the list of things she wasn’t happy about! Oh, and Emmy just wanted to hold my hands and jump. And Matty was probably getting tired of bribing/threatening Lucy to get her to smile.
All I wanted was one amazing sister picture.
There’s always next year.
Apparently Lucy has a fear of oversized things. Remember that giant pink inflatable chair from a few weeks ago? Well, these huge leaves were stunning, but Lucy was not having it.
I haven’t shared about books I’ve read in FOREVER, and I’ve read a ton. I recently finished American Royals and loved it! I’m currently reading Someone We Know and am really enjoying it. I can’t wait to see how it ends!
I tried out this banana bread recipe when I had some mama friends over a few weeks ago, and it’s officially my new go-to recipe when I have ripe bananas in the house. Of course I added chocolate chips; it’s my signature baking move!
I made this chicken recipe for dinner last week, and it was a hit! The only thing I did differently was that I shredded the chicken at the end and then waited to add the cheese until I put it in our bowls.
This morning Lucy and I are going on a boat ride for her field trip at school. We also have school picture day for both girls this week, and I’m also going to squeeze in a trip to the apple orchard. Plenty of things to keep us busy before we head out of town for a special trip this weekend!
Have a great week!
XOXO
