Happy Thursday!
We’ve been plugging right along this week. Nothing too mind blowing or exciting. Emily took a nap on Tuesday afternoon, which has been the highlight of my week so far! #sadbuttrue
Emmy and I did a Target run on Monday while Lucy was at school. Emily is obsessed . . . OBSESSED with all things Frozen. Have you been to Target or Kohl’s lately?? There’s no avoiding the Frozen fever!
We started out with a little snuggle time with Olaf . . .
. . . and eventually made our way to the Frozen toy aisle. It was all super cute and tolerable for about ten minutes, and then I wanted/needed to move on and get my errands done. To summarize: I was ready to be done with Frozen toys and Emmy wasn’t. I’m sure you can imagine how that all played out. #meltdown
(Emmy had a MELTDOWN in the FROZEN aisle. Get it?!)
My friend Marie invited me to go to a place called AR Workshop to make a project on Tuesday night. They have a zillion options to choose from, and I eventually narrowed it down to this Christmas sign.
It took almost three hours and was much more work than I thought it would be, but was so much fun!
Here’s Emmy in her crib bright and early yesterday morning. I think she’s contemplating why on earth she woke up so early!
The girls wanted “fun buns” yesterday morning. I did my best, but they were more like “crazy buns!’ As soon as we got to Lucy’s school, my friend Erin redid both girls’ hair and taught me how to do it. Every single picture I took of the finished product was blurry, so you’ll just have to trust me that it was much cuter!
In case you’re wondering about the designer clothes I dress my girls in, I picked these sweatshirts up for $4 a piece at Walmart and we all LOVE them!
While Lucy was at school yesterday, I took Emmy to story time at the apple orchard. It was windy and cold, which just gave Ems an excuse to wear her super cute new penguin hat.
Pumpkin glazed donuts, hot apple cider, friends, and stories. It was so fun and I actually felt guilty that Lucy couldn’t come.
Sometimes mama just needs a break, so I let the girls watch Room on the Broom on Netflix. I snuggled down on the couch . . . and they piled on top of me! My personal space is seriously nonexistent! However, I vividly remember laying on top of my dad while watching TV when I was little, so I guess it runs in the family!
Emmy would hammer the nail a few times and then push the glasses up on her head and say, “yep, looks good!” I seriously think she is the cutest thing lately!
Matty and I sat down in the kitchen last night to go over some paperwork, and the girls started “organizing” the pantry for me. Matty couldn’t believe that it wasn’t stressing me out. Honestly, getting TWENTY uninterrupted minutes to get things done and talk to Matty while the girls were playing together nicely outweighed any stress . . . until they wanted to help me put it all away. That definitely stressed me out! What do you mean you want to put the pretzels next to the Bisquick?! That doesn’t even make sense! Thankfully, Matty took them upstairs for an extended bath time so I could clean up in peace. Oh, and now I have a freshly organized pantry!
The girls are debuting their Halloween costumes tonight when we go trick-or-treating in town. I can’t wait to share the cuteness!
In extended family news:
Today is Tommy’s fourth birthday! We celebrated with him when we went to Bloomington a few weeks ago, but are so excited that today’s his special day!
And tomorrow is my sister-in-law’s 40th birthday! We can’t wait to celebrate Carla on Saturday!
Have a great weekend!
XOXO
