Happy Halloween!!
I don’t know what it’s like where you’re at, but here in South Lyon it’s rainy.
And cold.
And windy.
Whyyyy????
It was 65 and sunny three days ago!
The Kissels are not hard core enough to hang for very long in the rain, so hopefully we catch a break in time for trick-or-treating.
Luckily, we’ve already had quite a bit of Halloween fun.
My Aunt Dorothy was in town visiting from Florida last week. She stopped by to see the girls and our new house. She gave the girls candy immediately upon entering the house and instantly became their favorite person of the day.
It was a beautiful day so we played outside in the front yard, and there were a million dragon flies around our porch. So, basically, Lucy was in Heaven!
She’s holding THREE of them!
After dinner, it was time to trade in dragon flies for unicorns! We got the girls ready and headed out for trick-or-treating in town.
It’s more fun with neighbors!
Lucy got to eat candy while watching dogs in costumes parade down the street. Again, I think she was in Heaven!
And then the girls crashed hard when we got home!
Hey, REI, do you need a new model for your ad campaign? I’ve got one for you!
Matty and I were the ones who got something new, yet Emmy was so happy to be holding the bag!
We celebrated Carla’s 40th birthday over the weekend, and I think this is the only picture I have of her! See her in the corner there? haha
These three little girlies LOVED the Hot Wheels race track!
Emmy got some quality Aunt Donna time . . .
. . . and Lucy developed a new love of Foosball.
Sunday morning was cold and rainy so we let the girls get some energy out at Sky Zone.
And then we went to the Super Kroger in Brighton and hit the grocery store jackpot: the pink car cart, Frozen cereal, and samples of chocolate milk and chocolate ice cream!
Prior to having children, I used to require a nice quiet room in order to read. Now, I can drown out any type of noise and get lost in my book! I’ve been hit with a huge stretch of insomnia over the past few months, and it’s taking it’s toll on me. I try to sit down and rest at least a little bit each day now because otherwise I might just fall over. The girls watched a T.O.T.S., and I got 23 minutes of reading time.
Our sweet neighbor across the street bought pumpkins for the kiddos to paint.
Emily loves to help with the laundry. And by “help” she means that I should dump the basket on the floor and she puts each item in one by one.
Both girls had dentist appointments earlier this week, and they had a blast!
Lucy wore her costume to school yesterday . . .
. . . and Emmy put together a random costume to help me pass out candy at Lucy’s party.
Lucy dressed up her stuffies for Halloween yesterday afternoon.
It rained all day long yesterday. After lunch I put on a movie and made “cozy nests” for the girls. It bought me about 20 minutes of dozing before Emmy turned herself into my own personal 34 pound weighted blanket. ๐
This morning we have a play date and then we’ll be keeping our fingers crossed that the rain lets up in time to get some candy . . . and to give away the 300 pieces I have waiting in a bowl!
Have a great weekend!
XOXO
